Long heavy straight hair, what do I do with it?

I'm bored of my hair. I've asked this before I know but I have forgotten the advice Blush

I'm growing it to donate so cannot cut it into styles at the moment. It's really heavy so doesn't hold other styles very easily and I need to have it up in a simple ponytail or bun for work as the kids just pull it out every half an hour.

What can I do with it otherwise? Any easy and simple styles that will keep it out of my face and also ones that don't encourage greasiness (it greases up very quickly). It's not yet long enough for a plait given how thick it is Hmm It's bottom of shoulder blade length.

I am shite with the straighteners, have tried curling and following tutorials and cannot get it to work. I remember a babyliss device being recommended last time?

The babyliss big hair? Yep, that's quite good.

I recently had a fringe cut in and I do not regret it. It looks like I've done something even when I haven't. I can wash, towel dry, comb, pop in some good quality mousse and leave to dry naturally I'm the evening. I go to bed, and when I get up in the morning the fizziness has been taken out by the pillow but it's still fresh enough.

For greasiness between washes have you tried the spray on dry shampoo? That is a real lifesaver.

Straighteners are a must though, even if you dry it in the evenings after putting the kids to bed and just straighten the top layer, it will make a huge difference in the morning.
