If accessorised with another colour, probably cream? It's a church wedding then hotel reception

Do you want plain, patterned, any thoughts on colour, length, sleeves etc?

Gosh that top one's LOVELY.

OhEmGee24 · 11/07/2012 13:26

Best features dear God! Um arms n tum probably, small boobs (thanks breast feeding). Typically wear fitted things as I have a small frame so floaty stuff swamps me. Thanks! Smile

Wear what the hell you like. Can't stand these anal brides who say no to this that or the other because when it comes to the day the bride won't notice what her granny is wearing yet alone a guest.

Wear what you are comfortable in.

I think your dress looks lovely. Accessorise well though- coloured pashmina/fascinator/ shoes. If you've got the figure to carry this off (and it sounds like you have) you'll look great.

I wore black to a wedding once. Floaty wide leg trousers strappy/frilly top to match. Cream pashmina. Kick ass black/cream hat. Got complimented all day. I am very tall. And was about 3 stone lighter then

Have a lovely wedding. Smile

My MIL wore black (and trousers at that) to her only daughter's wedding. I found that quite weird.

rainonmyparade · 11/07/2012 13:56

Having said that. I would agree with hana that black/trousers wouldn't actually be appropriate for son/daughters wedding.

mamalovesmojitos · 11/07/2012 14:16

I think you should wear that dress. Smile. It will be a bit longer on you & if you are small of norkage the sheer panel shouldn't be too revealing. A jacket and some nice shoes (nothing too tacky) - you'll be gorgeous.

Mama and rain - thank you! I'm going to go for the champagne one and if it looks shit hey it's only £15 in the sale!

My MIL wore black to my wedding Grin
Not a problem as long as you accessorise, especially with a different colour for shoes/bag.

cheesesarnie · 11/07/2012 14:26

My friend (the bride) suugested that I wear my black dress to her wedding. I accessorized with cream pearls,a cream flower in my hair and nude shoes (sounds horrid but looked ok).

I didn't feel very 'weddingy' and although it had been the brides suggestion, I didn't feel appropriate.

Next ish (sorry sorry!!) it's got a low back. I could go braless but when I do I look pre-pubescent SO I'm on the hunt for a very low strapped bra or one of those stick on things (do they do anything for you?!). Im a 32 b/c. I love mumsnet Grin

Oh lawks. I think you can get sort of multi-way bras that are designed for low backs and strapless ones and all sorts?

I wouldn't know - I need scaffolding and a wheelbarrow for mine Sad Grin

OhEmGee24 · 12/07/2012 12:03

The dress(es - I ordered it in 3 sizes!) has arrived. My man says it looks beautiful on so that's all the encouragement I need Smile. As I'm small busted the mesh area is really discreet and it sits about an inch or 2 above the knee. It looks very Reiss-esque on according to my sister, not the £15 I paid for it Smile. Off to the post office to return the other two sizes.
