My faithful Hobbs ballet flats have died. And they weren't as comfy anyway as the previous pair were. So I need to replace them but wonder if you lot could recommend a brand that is really comfy for everyday wear? Happy to spend up to £80 as I expect them to be good quality and LAST and I go for price per wear these days! (And I am a teacher so comfy shoes a must)

I am certain there was a brand everyone raved about a few ears ago that sometimes turned up in TK MAXX????

French Sole for me, by a mile, I wear them constantly.

I think you mean Blochs. There was a thread recently about them not lasting very long though.

MsOliveOyl, which style do you buy? They seem to have several

I buy Harriets, because I have small narrow feet. If you want them more sturdy and less low cut at the front, the Low Cut style is good, and Pirouette are also sturdier but v comfy and still pretty. The Simple style looks like granny shoes to me, but i'm used to my v low cut ones!

And ime, they are v good quality and last 2-3 years, even with lots of outdoor wear.

I've found the trick is to get ones with a bit of a heel rather than the very flat ones. Clarkes are getting better on the frumpy stakes and their shoes are almost always comfortable so perhaps have a look there.

Ooh, notmostpeople has reminded me of something - the Low Cut style are totally flat and the soles are really slippy. Harriet and Pirouette have better soles with a slight heel.

They are £££££ now, first pair I bought was only £50!

some lovely flats in Hobbs sale at the moment although still pricey. I bought some Clarks ballet pumps in the sale like this and the support makes such a difference - much more comfortable than totally flat shoes.

Banana republic has very comfy ballet pumps - not available online, Regent Street has the best selection.

Another vote for Clarks.
