So, I am reluctantly using Liz Earle again <sigh>...

I have tried everything including the OCM, which worked fantastically for about 3 months and then my skin went to pot.

I tried everything known to man and now am back to good old Liz and my skin feels instantly better and calmer.

I used to use her products but found them a tad on the expensive side for what they are and got pissed off she sold out to Avon BUT tbh I have spent so much on other lotions and potions I probably save just sticking with Liz Hmm

So in my box of tricks which arrived today was free shampoo, conditioner and 3 muslin cloths AND a mini cleanse and polish - hooray! Grin

Anyone tried the new make up yet? And what about the exfoliater, is that nice ( preparing my next order Wink)

Yes I will! I used not to like it as well (reminded me too much of my mum) but their make up/skin care range is excellent. You can use it and send it back if you don't like it, so it's good value. The sets work out cheap for pressies :o

WhateverHappenedToWinceyWillis · 09/07/2012 18:46

I use the cleanse and polish and it is so much better for my skin than other products .

I have also recently bought the makeup and likewise it is great . People have commented on how lovely the makeup is.

JemimaPuddle · 09/07/2012 19:38

I had used c&p for a few years, occasionally trying other things but always went back to it. Then I tried the Emma Hardie balm & have not looked back, my skin looks so much better that I've even had a few days without foundation!

MWB22 · 09/07/2012 20:08

How natural is Emma Hardie?

JemimaPuddle · 09/07/2012 20:40

Not sure MWB22 its a grapeseed oil base I think & lots of other natural ingredients but not sure who much (if any) unnatural ingredients it has!
Sorry that was spectacularly unhelpful!!

knitknack · 09/07/2012 20:49

I use Emma hardie!! It's amazing and incredible and wonderful :) oh, and you can buy it from space nk if you don't want to use QVC... They recently reviewed it here i originally bought it as a treat before my wedding, but the original lasted FOREVER and it's so so lively and has improved my skin no end, that I've recently bought a second one...

Housewifefromheaven · 09/07/2012 21:58

Oh thanks ladies can't wait now!!

valiumredhead · 10/07/2012 08:14

Oooo the balm is cheaper on ebay! Will wait for skin to calm down and then have a go!

I have reluctantly gone back to Liz Earle too. I switched to the OCM and it was awful for my skin. Then I tried Ultrabland but that was no good either, and was not any cheaper than Liz Earle. I have now gone back to Cleanse and Polish, but I have worked out that if I used 2 pumps a day I would use 11 bottles a year. If I bought them in 3-packs, it would cost me £129 a year. To wash my face! It would be cheaper to buy if I got the 200ml tubes, but without the pump I would use more so it wouldn't work out cheaper.

I have conducted a highly scientific survey of the mums at school and not one of them uses a cleanser. They all use either a) soap and water, or b) water. They were all Shock when I said I used a cleanser. I didn't say what it was or it would have been worse.

I will try the Emma Hardie next time I run out of Liz Earle.

valiumredhead · 10/07/2012 08:44

My face would fall off if I used soap and water! Shock

I used the 200 ml tube but it's a false economy as it's hard to get the last third out.

I only use one pump - I need to make it last Grin

I was looking at the moisturiser last night and honestly think it's about a fiver too much, I'd be much happier paying a tenner or £12 for it. The packaging is seriously plain, and there's no advertising costs as she doesn't advertise.

Saying that, I felt better about no p and p charges this time - I think that should be standard not just on special offers.

My face does feel lovely this morning thought Grin

I am interested in the make up, but again I think it's too expensive for what it is.

God I am so tight.

I'm the same with soap and water. The money I would save would be more than cancelled out by the need to slather on half a pot of superskin to stop it all flaking off.

I'm keen to try the make up but I am not buying something I haven't seen IRL. They are not selling the make up in John Lewis concessions and I am not near a Liz Earle shop. Next time I go to London I will try it.

I bought something on QVC for the first time recently because it was a lot cheaper and had free postage. The package arrived with QVC in huge writing all over the box, and I was never so glad to be in for a parcel in my life.

There used to be lots of Liz Earle seconds on ebay direct from Liz Earle but I've noticed they only seem to have 5 or 6 items for sale at a time now and no C&P.

JemimaPuddle · 10/07/2012 09:04

If you have a Liz Earle at home party you get a free full size C&P, skin tonic & skin repair moisturiser. The therapist that does the party is not paid any commission so no hard sell either.
It's quite a nice way to spend a couple of hours & the guests all got a free gift too (travel size C&P)

Anypointinseeingdoc · 10/07/2012 09:07

None of my cohort would come to a Liz Earle party due to using soap and water as above Wink but it is a lovely idea. Must get new friends.

wildfig · 10/07/2012 09:14

I've been trying Emma Hardie recently, as a dyed-in-the-wool LE fan - am quite impressed, actually. (yes, it was a QVC TSV Blush) The moringa balm is lovely, and has lasted ages - I'm only about a 1/3 down the pot after a couple of months. The serum seems to work on fine lines/plumping up skin, and the night cream is gorgeous. Haven't used the day cream yet, as it doesn't have a SPF and I need one.

IIRC, Emma Hardie designed her skincare range to accommodate her own very sensitive skin, so I think it's reasonably natural? I've noticed my rosacea has calmed down a lot since I've been using it. Thinking about it, I haven't used my Rosex gel at all lately.

JemimaPuddle · 10/07/2012 09:57

Anypoint my friends are the same, they indulged me because I was fairly heavily pregnant at the time and I bribed then with alcohol and food It really was lovely as everyone got to try the products as we went along and I got a free facial :)

Anypointinseeingdoc · 10/07/2012 09:57

Wildfig, can you tell me about Rosex please? I have mild rosacea and I keep trying different things which make no difference.

wildfig · 10/07/2012 10:34

It's a type of metronidazole gel that you can get on prescription for topical treatment of rosacea flare-ups; Rosex is one of a couple of variations on the same basic formula. I prefer Rosex to the last one I got at the chemist (Metrogel?), which balled up and then flaked slowly during the day. Because every rosacea sufferer wants to look as if they've got a form of medieval leprosy as well...

Anypointinseeingdoc · 10/07/2012 11:38

Thank you. Does it make a difference to the redness? I have eczema as well, and I have been prescribed stuff for the eczema but not the rosacea. The eczema is under control now but I am still so red so I am going to tackle the rosacea next.
