I need some shoes for a wedding. Need to be flat. Also need a jacket/wrap type thing.

Dress is white with black & turquoise bits. Thin straps mean I need to cover my shoulders little bit on the tight size needs to be 16 possibly 18 depending on style.

Shoes need to be flat but not thin soles as my SPD is playing up and hurts if I'm wearing thin soles. Shoes are size 3-4.

Nothing in local shops so needs to be online with good returns. Cheap as possible please!

Also are fascinators and similar still ok? I'd quite like one but it's been a long time since I went to a wedding!

Could you link to the dress?

I'll have a rummage and see what I can find...

GnocchiNineDoors · 08/07/2012 18:35

A link to the dress would really help if avaliable.

Also, how much do you want to spend on shoes?

Im not a fan of fascinators but I have a feather phobia and most of them have feather on.

HaitchJay · 08/07/2012 18:36

Dress is a few years old. Doubt it's still online anywhere.

diamante black pointed pump

would you consider a sandal?

HaitchJay · 08/07/2012 18:42

Scarf could work according to dh who has more idea than I do

It'd really help if you'd put a photo of the dress on your profile, makes it SO much easier.

some shoes to be cracking on with. Nowt too special though.
black - could you manage the tiniest wedge?
white
Both have a deep squishy foot bed and are said to be fiendishly comfortable.
black - very plain
black again

HaitchJay · 08/07/2012 18:44

I like the second one gnocchi. Its the sole that may be an issue although I might just have to sit a lot anyway as walking hurts at the moment.

Are you heavily pregnant? In all honesty by the end of my pg I was so heavy and tired all the time i'd keep 'nice' shoes on for the daytime and swap to the comfiest slippers I could find for the night time. Anyone commenting negatively on them would be sat on.

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 08/07/2012 19:02

Nude sandals. pewter or maybe the coral if the it's a pale turquoise in the dress.
purple - if the turquoise is the seem sort of intensity
gold, too thin?

Is proving very hard to find things that are attractive and likely to cause as little pain as possible.

I cannot recommend Alegria Shoes enough. They are stylish, and the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. They are a bit cloggy and hippy, but so different you get away with it. People have stopped me in the street asking about them.

Plum Soles of Derby have a sale and are on line, try googling.

HaitchJay · 08/07/2012 19:11

Not pregnant, just got SPD 2 years on :(

Never thought of M & S , we actually have one near work I could try this week.

Can't upload a pic at the moment as dh has taken the computer to work and I'm not sure it can be done with my phone.

Like the Algeria shoes for normal days, have saved them.

wrinklygran · 08/07/2012 20:49

No day is normal in Alegria shoes (no I am not on commission, I have just suffered painful feet for years). They have arch supporting insoles and wide fittings. Look on the American website for really wacky designs.
