Green Primers

Because I've got Rosacea along my jaw line and lower cheeks I thought I's give a green toned primer a go! There seems to be quite a few available, but I'd rather listen to the ladies on S & B than rely on their online reviews Smile.

So, stylish ones which are the best ? Please

I tried the No7 one once, it didnt go well at all.

So avoid that one.

I've used the Boots No.7 one for years and it works brilliantly. You could also try a green tinted moisturiser - Clinique do one and I use this when I don't want to wear make up.

I also tried No7 - did nothing. You can buy a cheap one on ebay (can't remember the brand but it was about £4) and the smashbox one gets good reviews.

I decided against buying any more but use concealer and mineral foundation. I don't have rosacea though, just red veins around my nose.
If you search rosacea on this site you should get lots of hits, it comes up fairly regularly.

The No. 7 one did nothing here other than add a very fetching green powder to my face.

The smashbox one is really good, there's also one the bodyshop do that I used to like a lot.

Thanks for the replies. I must admit I looked at the No 7 one today (voucher burning an hole in my pocket!) and didn't think much of it. I think I'll give the Clinque one a go, just waiting for the Bonus Time Smile as I've tried the redness solutions foundation and that seemed pretty good.
Thanks All, I knew S & B wouldn't let me down Thanks

I used one in the 80's very cruella de ville

I use the boots natural collection concealer stick for my spots that works great, you'll get thru a lot of it but it's just a suggestion if all the tinted primers fail.

After visiting the orange lady at the Clinique counter she told me that yellow is better than green for redness on the face. Clinique do a loose and compact yellow powder which helps, though I think a decent foundation goes a long way - their redness solutions foundation is really good for coverage but I found it made me too dewy and having quite an oily t-zone it didn't make for a good look!!!

I use the compact yellow powder to set my foundation and top up with it during the day.

I think they also do a yellow based primer but for some reason I was steered away from buying it - it probably wasn't expensive enough and they sure saw me coming when I said I wanted to cover redness - cleanser, toner, moisturiser, foundation and yellow compact for just over £130 gulp!!!!

valiumredhead · 09/07/2012 18:31

I really don't like green primer - it looks ashy and un natural imo.

What you need is a yellow based product to knock out the redness and Bare Minerals Bisque concealor is fab! I always harp on about it as it has transformed my life - also have rosacea.

Green primers are a bit of a bum steer. Get some mineral foundation. Either lily lolo or bare minerals Matt. It must be bismuth free. It's the best thing for rosacea because of the way the powder is able to settle on to the face. Rosacea often causes skin to have a different texture ( one that other types of concealer cannot adhere to)
