Threading - isn't it supposed to get ALL the stragglers?

Just had my eyebrows threaded at one of those specialist eyebrow bars in Debenhams. Apart from the fact that it HURT, I've just noticed there are a few short but visible with a normal, non-magnifying mirror ones left over - is that normal?

Just wondering if I should phone up and complain, not sure I CBA...

I've never had any stragglers- always very clean lines- i use a local beauty salon.

Did they show you them in a mirror before you left?

MrsRogerSterling · 05/07/2012 14:06

Yes, they should be immaculate, thats why I love threading because they are so groomed afterwards.

I was wondering the same, got mine done in the Body Shop last week and it didn't hurt, but was surprised when I got home to see some stragglers. They did give me a mirror in the shop, but to be honest with there being a queue of girls looking on, I just glanced and said thats fine. I won't be going back there.

Harrumph. Yes I did look, but more at the shape and not that close (plus the area was quite red). I might give them a quick call then...

I get mine done in a shopping centre, it's better than the beauty salon threading I had.

I go very early so not too many people see me. Blush.

I go to the shopping centre too. It's a bit embarrassing but they do a brill job

MinnieBar · 05/07/2012 20:36

Well I rang - she said 'come back in, of course'. I said I didn't live that close and didn't get into town that often. So she said she didn't know what to suggest (me neither!) and that she'd leave a note for her manager, who will be in next week.

So she'll probably just look at it on Monday and throw it out. I don't know how much of a fuss to make... I suppose I could ask to have it redone next time in town, but I'm not sure I want to because it hurt

I had mine done for the first time a couple of weeks ago I cried then I had to go and hide in the dullest corner of WHSmiths till the redness faded Blush
but it was brilliant - really really groomed and tidy.
You were definitely short changed.
Maybe pluck the strays and go somewhere else next time?
One tip - if they say "shall I do your moustache for you" even if you die with embarrassment (I so didn't think I HAD a moustache) just say no.
It hurts even more! (and is even more embarrassing in the shopping centre) Blush
