im an eyebrow virgin Grin

i have fairly thin but unshapen eyebrows and have been offered either a wax or sugaring by a group of students that study in the same building as me.

both sound scarey and hurty Grin

which do you think would work best?

Ooooh,
I've tried sugaring and it's messy and on my legs, a complete waste of time.

Wax would be more precise.
Eyebrow hairs are thicker than leg hairs or upper lip, so I'd imagine they'd be more difficult for the sugar/wax to grip?

What about threading?

cheesesarnie · 30/06/2012 16:39

does threading hurt?

if sugaring is messy on legs i dont want it on my face!

Go with threading.

IME it is horrendously painful the first time but isn't if you keep up with it.

cheesesarnie · 30/06/2012 16:57

did you just say pain????

do you think the students would laugh if i screamed?

Threading hurts like a bastard and you end up with massive red eyebrows for a few hours so take big sun glasses!

SoupDragon · 30/06/2012 17:04

The pain and redness is much the same as waxing TBH. It doesn't hurt at all when I have mine done now, BTW.

cheesesarnie · 30/06/2012 17:09

soupy i love and trust you

so im thinking, i may ask the students but if i wimp out i'll go to the local beauty salon and scream and cry in there instead.

does it work on thin eyebrows?

I certainly don't have thick eyebrows and I've had mine waxed in the past and now I have them threaded. shape wise, they're lovely :)

Has to be said, first threading was really really painful, made worse by the fact that it is more prolonged. A wax hurts like hell but is the same principle as ripping off a plaster.

No pain no gain!

susiedaisy · 30/06/2012 18:46

Eyebrows - threading or waxing I have found over time it's hurts less and takes no time at all but to begin with it was painful.

osterleymama · 30/06/2012 18:53

Don't sugar! Wax is quick but threading is far more precise.

cheesesarnie · 30/06/2012 19:16

threading it is then!
