Flat tan sandals- show me your best ones...

I want some flat, comfortable tan leather sandals with a bit of a sole, ie not wafer-thin.

I quite liked these on the Clarks website, but the back bit looked really uncomfortable and they have sold out now anyway.

I need a size 7 or 8.

Any nice ones out there?

Tethersend, I had a failed attempt yesterday to try them on in store. They took quite a while to bring them (as they insist on bringing both shoes before you can try them). DS started wailing while we waited and DD proceded to try and distract him, but unfortunately that made him even more cross

I tried one shoe, gave in, handed back the shoes and fled Grin I hadn't considered the adjective "granny"before you mentioned it... but I didn't like the way they looked on me. I have very bony feet and they looked really big (straps looked v loose).

So today, I spent an hour over a cuppa and purchased a few pairs Blush of shoes. I decided to order a few pairs as I also have the toddler from hell esp shopping so here are my purchases and only one lucky pair will be staying with me ......

I got the tan Clarks ones today in store and I'm glad I did.

Needed half size bigger to fit. My normal size seemed a little small length wise.

Plus £17.49 and loads left.

That was in Belfast city centre if anyone interested

BettySwallocks2012 · 28/06/2012 20:48

Chablis can you link to which pair? I'm all clark & tanned out now .... Phew!!!

ChablisLover · 28/06/2012 20:56

Betty they are the ones thethers linked to in her op. they're not online anymore though only available in store.

I had ordered a size 6 for delivery in store but they were too small length wise (toes were nearly over the end) and was glad the shop had a 6 1/2 in.

I bought Party Feet Invisible Heel shields here today to go in my Clark sandels and they are now lovely and comfortable. Also check out the black sandals from Wearing it Today blog here Office sandals they look very similar.

The assistants in my local Clarks are lovely too, and they showed me how to soften leather. You need a tube of their leather cream (£3.00) and a teaspoon. You rub the cream on the leather - like hand cream for shoes - and then rub it with the back of the teaspoon. The longer you do it and the more you repeat it the better it is. If the shoes are a bit tight, you can put them on after this process, to help them mould to your feet. This totally works and has made at least 3 pairs of unwearable shoes quite comfy.
