Sorry for yucky subject (no klaxon enthusiasts please!). I do a microdermabrasion weekly and try to clean my face properly each evening. Still my pores are clogged up. I've Neutrogena's blackhead eliminating face wash but is it any good?

Where are they on your face? my blocked pores on my nose look dark but are not blackheads so nothing comes out of them.

This is really good for black heads and spots.

You warm the skin first with a hot cloth. Very satisfying. I use it on DH's back when he lets me.

Oily pores will keep coming back. To keep them clean I use Body shop tea tree toner. I have used the tee tree toner during the day to make me feel less greasy by decanting into a plastic travel bottle. I also use an oil free foundation - Laura Mercier.

a really good grainy scrubber after a good steam of your face. I know that isn't a revolutionary piece of advice but I do find it works! PS Fluffy that instrument looks amazing! I am pretty addicted to doing it by hand but DH won't let me anymore!

My nose is covered in oily blackheads/blocked pores. I cat seem to shift them, anyone got a fail safe way of doing so?

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2012 20:42

My blocked pores on my nose get much better if I use liz earles deep cleansing clay mask every night. Not pretty but effective. I always wash my skin again after use.

Scrubs make me break out.

Thanks for all the replies!

Hmmm, maybe they are not blackheads after all, just oily blocked pores. Will try the steam and tea tree oil.

Not sure about the contraption. Is it better to use it instead of manual extraction in terms of scarring? How do you minimise, at least visually, the pores after all the crap comes out of them? The skin under my eyes (the end of the cheek by the nose) has deep, scarred pores - if that makes sense.

I've not been able to get rid of them completely, but really making sure my skin is clean by double cleansing, and then using a toner, does help. I like La Roche Posay Effaclar toner, which has salicylic acid in it, which is great for oily blackhead prone skin.

Do an aspirin facemask.

Get 4/5 dispersible aspirin mash up with a little water. Apply to face, leave on for a few mins and rinse off. It contains salicylic acid, a pack costs about 20p, bargain!

Dermalogica daily microfoliant.
Gentle but effective.

I started this oil cleaning method I saw on here a few weeks ago. My nose was full of black heads and I noticed yesterday they have all gone - think it might be because of that.
I made the oil with 25% castor oil and 75% olive + couple drops of geranium oil.
rub in (makeup inc mascara melts off) and hot muslim to remove.
I think its really good although i have some spots on my cheeks? a bit but living in v hot country plus always wear makeup so could be that.

mumblechum1 · 26/06/2012 13:13

10987 Where would I acquire the Hot Muslim? Wink

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 26/06/2012 13:43

In the same place, where you can get pickled Germans Wink.
