Would anyone be aware of ANTA?

Hello style and beauty. I like this place, but lurk rather than post, mainly because I have no idea how to do links. Which seems to be a pretty vital skill in these parts.

Despite this, I wonder if any of you might be able to help me, and would have any ideas where I might be able to get something in the style of ANTA, but not as expensive.

ANTA is a Scottish company doing lots of lovely thing, mainly in a tartan style. But we're talking £140 for a throw. Yikes.

I want to get a present for a very good friend, and she would love the throws I would spend up to £100, but that extra 50% is just too much.

So... Any ideas? Where can I get a good quality throw that won't cost the earth and make my husband fall out with me?

colourways not quite the same but £60

smaller lambswool option

You won't get anything exactly the same as ANTA without it being ANTA ifyswim. The price is there because it's a heritage item.

If you google Scottish Wool Blanket (rather than throw- that just gives you lots of options for caber tossing) you might have a few more options.

Just had a nosy on the ANTA site because I'd never heard of them and look what there is ( although it's not one of the plaid throws ) www.anta.co.uk/shop/item.php?id=590&catid=323&brandid=0&image=1

Wow- good hunting!

I suspect nothing will quite be what I want- I agree the ANTA stuff is just lovely. I think I might be divorced however if I spend more on a present than I do on ourselves..

They do look very lovely and I can understand why you want to give one as a present. I'm a bit of a serial gift giver myself and I know how hard it can be to rein it in, I'd say I like it more than I like being given presents but that would be a mahoosive lie.

The Anta shops have good sales.

I also happen to know first hand that they can be bargained with and if I were you I'd call them, give them your budget and ask what they can do for that. They're in a recession too, and interiors companies are really struggling.
