I am sick of buying crap eye makeup removers that just don't cut it:/
I've lost dozens of lashes trying to rub it off with crap product to the point where my laser are quite sparse in parts. I bought the Benefit They're Real mascara at Xmas and dont use it because I can't get the damn stuff off. It days it isn't waterproof- but it sticks like waterproof. I would love wear waterproof mascara every day but it hurts my lashes- is this weird? Is it just me?
Anyway, what I need is something that will key me wear what I want without me rubbing and pulling at my eyes. I hate removers that are too oily btw- it clogs my eyes and I might as
well use baby oil.

Thanks y'all

Have you tried Blinc mascara? It is waterproof but comes off with water

pinguthepenguin · 19/06/2012 13:13

Sorry for all the typos- damn phone!

Haven't tried blinc- isn't it good?

I use liz earle cleanse & polish, its not specifically and eye makeup remover but it gets it right off, really easily.

curiositykilledthekat · 19/06/2012 13:16

Boots essentials fragrance free, less than 2 quid. White with a blue lid. I'm not joking when I say this is the best eye make up remover I have ever used!

BetterOnACamel · 19/06/2012 13:18

Pure from Waitrose - 220ml for £1.94

Whitershadeofpale · 19/06/2012 13:19

On Lisa Eldridge's advice I tried bioderma and I love it! Non greasy, in fact it feels like water but takes all make up off. See this video as she does her cotton pads different to usual and I've found this really helps too.

I got mine from amazon do about £20 for a massive bottle. I'm sure you could get smaller bottles for less though.

Dropdeadfred · 19/06/2012 13:21

I second Luz Earles c and p. you just smear it over your eye ... Doesn't hurt if it gets in your eye.. It instantly dissolves everything

terrywoganstrousers · 19/06/2012 13:26

Sorry, was in a rush and made that sound like it wasn't good!!
It's great. It 'tubes' your lashes with a vinyl type stuff instead of painting them, so even if you rub your eyes or go swimming it doesn't come off.
When you want to get it off you just sort of ease the tubes off under warm water with your fingers, can't describe it properly!

terrywoganstrousers · 19/06/2012 13:29

Here you go- copied and pasted from the blinc website as it explains it better.

blinc is the original mascara invented to form tiny water-resistant "tubes" around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. Whether your daily activities take you from the office, to your sweaty workout and then out to dinner, your lashes will look as good in the evening as they did when you first applied blinc in the morning
blinc mascara will add volume and length to give you a radiant natural look that lasts all day. Only when you are ready for removal, the tubes will effortlessly slide off your lashes into your hand without the use of a harsh makeup remover.

Blinc is better than waterproof mascaras. All it takes is the combination of lots of warm water and gentle pressure, from your fingertips, a washcloth or water pressure (i.e. shower) and the tubes will slide off your lashes effortlessly. Upon removal you will actually see the tiny beauty tubes in your hand!

blinc mascara has been clinically tested to be non-irritating making it ideal for sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people in search of a mascara whose look, hold and ease of removal is without compromise.

The Loreal blue one that you have to shake is very good. (I'm a MUA and it's my remover of choice for stubborn eye makeup :) )

onetiredmummy · 19/06/2012 13:33

what terrywogan says, I love blinc but I find it doesn't give you much volume. It makes a barely there effect which is fine for everyday but not for occasions. It does what it say though & is easily removed with water so you shouldn't lose lashes with it.
Also you can't use it for swimming-its a lie as it will & does come off in the pool.
My favourite thing is that it will not smudge. Ever. You won't get panda eyes with blinc which is why I wear it every day :)

Whitershadeofpale · 19/06/2012 13:40

I've tried blinc and although it doesn't move it made no difference to my eyelashes except for darkening them. Tbh you could get the same result with eyelash tinting. If you like the effect of they're real then I can't imagine you getting on with blinc.

FreeButtonBee · 19/06/2012 13:53

Best make up remover is Vichy stuff which has blue/transparent layers - you shake it up to mix and then squirt it on cotton wool. I use that Benefit Mascara (it's great) and it does a v good job of getting rid - I do sometimes have to have another go after my shower but it's generally just a v small amount of smudge under my eye, not full on pandas.

AbsofAwesomeness · 19/06/2012 13:58

I use the MAC oil one, which you put on, then add water and it emulsifies. Doesn't leave an oily residue and takes all make up off.

piratecat · 19/06/2012 14:02

the L'oreal blue one is the best imo.

BerryLellow · 19/06/2012 14:07

I like the Lancome one, seem to have loads of little bottles from the mascara gift sets. Also like Boots Botanics one, but that might be slightly oily.

Capybara · 19/06/2012 14:10

Clinique Take The Day Off, but the balm not the liquid version. Seriously, takes off everything first time.

tethersend · 19/06/2012 14:24

Oil of olay. Blinding stuff.

Not literally.

pinguthepenguin · 19/06/2012 14:28

Wow lot of ideas here, thanks ladies

I think im gonna give up on trying to get on with waterproof mascara ( I persevered because it holds curl when using curlers) but god my eyelashes ALWAYS end up hurting! It's weird - how can 'hair' hurt? But it does, and pretty soon after that i loose them in twos or threes.
I'm playing with Lash Extention and False Lash Effect at the minute. I do like a dramatic eye when going out, wear lots of eye makeup etc, although I keep it pretty simple in the week.

I have Liz Earle C&P- love it for face but can't really be doing with having it in my eyes though tbh. I also find the emulsifying oils a pain as they get in my eyes too, then im cloudy for ages! ( had the shu uemera one)

Thanks for all the suggestions!

i have that benefit mascara and yes, it's a bugger to take off, best stuff is coconut oil (I've posted about this on other threads), otherwise Melvita Waterproof eye make up remover is brilliant.
You need something with oil in it, I don't use the stuff in boots as it all has silicone in it

valiumredhead · 19/06/2012 14:44

Any cream cleanser - also vaseline - with a warm muslin cloth will remove eye make up.

MissFoodie · 19/06/2012 14:45

or vaseline aka baby oil - I wouldn't use it but it does work

MousyMouse · 19/06/2012 14:46

loo roll cotton pad + nivea lotion works very well in this house

iwantavuvezela · 19/06/2012 14:48

If you buy some Blinc, try using QUEEN as a code, as it gave me 20% off when i used it ...
great stuff, washes right off, never smudges!

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/06/2012 17:56

Two drops of baby oil on my finger, massage over eyes. Tissue off.

I've had the same bottle for 18 months too. I never wake up with black smudges anymore or black sleep.
