fluffy bits sticking up everywhere - on wavy, frizzy thin hair!

I have fine hair in a long bob and it is naturally curly/wavy. I generally wash it every other day and use ghd's on it to straighten it into some kind of style. I would like to have it curly sometimes, more natural looking and would save frying my head! However, over the last year or so I have little fluffy bits of hair sticking up all over my head and it just won't lie flat ifykwim. I take alot of medication and this has affected my hair in the past and I lost an awful lot at one stage. Since I had my DS 18 months ago, it has been much stronger and looks thicker in a collar bone length bob. The hairdresser has said that much of the fluffy bits are regrowth which is great, but I also have little sticky-up tufts around my face and I think it may be broken hair rather than regrowth. Now, whether my hair is curly or straight - it looks as if I have been rubbing my head on a balloon! I would love to find a product that would enhance curls and not make my hair so frizzy and a straightening product if anyone has any recommendations? My hair can get greasy so I can't use really heavy products and I only condition from mid length to ends at the advice of hairdresser. I have changed my shampoo and conditioner in the last few months and started using the Liz Earle range. I know that hers hasn't got chemicals in it, but I do wonder whether I need a bit of something in a shampoo and conditioner to take a bit of the fluff out of it!

I've not tried this on curly hair but I use it at work for smoothing down people's stick up tufts (exactly as you describe), especially at the parting. I do make up and hair for photoshoots, TV etc. It's a stick product but just rub a bit on the palms of your hands and use it to smooth down the fluffy bits. The great thing about it is that it's not greasy so doesn't weigh the hair down or make it lank.

In fact, you've just reminded me, I have a similar problem to you as I've been on steroids for over and year on and off and my already fine, frizzy hair is in a similar state. I just remembered I have a spare tube of this in my kit so I am going to purloin it for my own personal use!

I would do a google search for it as I think you can get it much cheaper on various other sites. Search "Label M Hair Polish"

Hi Havingkittens, thanks so much for your advice - I will definitely get some of that. It sounds exactly what I need!
I hope that you are well at the moment, steroids aren't much fun!
I would love your job!

I use John Frieda Secret Agent - smoothes everything down a treat!

I have similar bits of hair (baby hair that never grew out), i spray aussie long leave in hair conditioner when my hair is damp after washing and comb/brush it through and the little bits of har lay flat.

Try this. I've been using it for years & its fab - really smoothes hair down & you can get it in ASDA.
