I'm considering this (at a salon) as they recommend it for the pigmentation on my hands and cheeks.
However it's ££ and looks slightly scary.(the implement used, not the result)! Has anyone had it done or also considering it?

BTW I've already had 5 lots of microdermabrasion - slight difference on cheeks but nothing on hands.

Not used it but understand that some salons use local aneasthetic cream before the do the work.

I would NEVER have anything like that at a salon- you need a dr such as [www.cosmeticskinclinic.co.uk]]

watching!

Alice - thanks for that info! you are right - a doctor is better. But I DO trust my local salon - I have successfully had IPL there many times and the lady who does that is great.

I've googled the cosmetics skin clinic you mentioned and have submitted an enquiry though. (they're not too far from where I live). Nothing on their website about prices - I bet it's way out of my league Sad

I wish i'd used the sunscreen on the backs of my hands more thoroughly in days gone by - it just kind of crept up on me and now I have granny hands! (I am 47). Anyone watching this in your 20's/30's - that is my advice to you Smile

Bump - to ask if anyone out there has actually had dermarollers used on them?

do derma rollers get rid of pigmentation - did not know that - I would be tempted to buy a roller and do it myself.. if they can be done by salons, it is hardly likely to do significant damage as they are limited to what they can do?

Might get one a see what it does to a patch I have on side of hand...

zz my salon recommended dermaroller when the microdermabrasion had no effect. I wouldn't buy a dermaroller to DIY at home however.

I am now thinking twice about dermaroller altogether though and have sent an enquiry to the clinic recommended above! They think IPL would be the way forward (but I would have to go for a consultation obvs).

I've had one dermaroller treatment, it is rather painful, even with the anaesthetic cream. It basically makes you look as though you've sat in the sun for 6 hours without suncream - burnt! Doesn't last long however, probably looked reddish for 2 days at the most and you can apply makeup the next day to cover it up.
The results were good although I was expecting more tbh. I only had my face and neck done though, not hands.
I got a Groupon voucher for my local skin clinic, saved me £100. I wouldn't pay full price as I didn't think it was worth it. Some before/after shots are amazing though.
