Can you help me get a whole wardrobe for about £200 please?

I need a load of new clothes. DC3 is due next Thursday and providing she arrives on time I am going to Meadowhall at the start of July.

I am 26, currently a size 16 but I am expecting to be an 18. I am 5ft 8 and am currently a 40DD in nursing bras.

I am hoping to breastfeed so I guess it needs to be as BF friendly as possible.

I am a stay at home mum so no need to worry about having to get anything that could be work wear in the future. I am not a dress type person really as since having the boys I can't seem to find dresses that make me look good with my stomach.

I feel like I have spent months in leggings, mat jeans and long tops or my Isabella Oliver dress.

I mainly shop in H&M, Primark, New Look, Matalan. Sometimes I look in Dorothy Perkins. I am not a dress type person really as since having the boys I can't seem to find dresses that make me look good with my stomach. I lived in jeans but now I'd like to maybe add other things to it.

I am hoping to lose some weight but I know it will take some time.

Am I a complete lost case??

Help please.

Honestly, and this won't be what you want to hear, i think spending money on clothes is a bit of a waste of money for the first month. As disheartening as it can be, I was in maternity jeans til my stomach went down. Then a quick trip to Primark to get some bigger than usual skinny jeans and a vast number of cheapy £2 vest tops has done me the world of good. Ds is 10 weeks old now and I'm only just beginning to even think of sorting my wardrobe. I expectred the weight to melt off as he feeds so much, but I'm an unfortunate one who doesn't seem to shift weight while feeding, which is good in a way as it proves it wasn't just the biscuits that kept me fat with my previous 2!
As for breastfeeding clothes, tbh I've found them mostly a waste of money. I bought a Jojo breastfeeding dress to wear to a wedding 3 weeks postnatally, and I wore it again 2 weeks ago for a funeral and it's a giant pain in the butt to actually get my bra clip down. I far prefer just wearing a vest top under a normal top. If you've got money to spend then tbh I'd spend a good lot of it on some decent bras- avoid non underwired mono-boob inducing granny nursing bras and invest in some underwired Anita ones. They'll give you decent figure too. With it being summer and also runnish weather, now might be the time to stock up ocheaply on some boots and a decent coat? Fly boots are ridiculously cheap on Amazon atm, and if you sign up to their clothing emails, you get an extra 20% off. I got some Fly Mols I've lusted after forever this week for just £55. Look great with a skirt or jeans (or they would if it ever stops bloody raining)

I agree with fuckity, keep you're money till you're back to you're old size and then splurge...

Buy a handbag for £200 now and it'll fit you whatever you're size is and make you feel great!

I will never be back to my old size I doubt. I was a size 10 6 years ago when I got pg with DS1.

So that is why I wanted some nice new clothes for this summer. Sad

O you definately deserve new clothes :) Just not so quickly as your waist will keep shrinking. You could go weeks overdue and be only a week or so postnanal and none of the clothes you buy will fit after a few weeks. You know charity shops can be great to bridge the gap. I got a fab summer jacket in one this week (again, useless thanks to the sodding rain) and it cost 3 quid so I won't be heartbroken when I hand it back to them in (hopefully) a few months. I know I'm going to be this size now til ds cuts right back on feeds so I may as well accept it and try and dress as well as I can, otherwise I'll just feel yuck. My advice then would be wait til your dc is about 4 weeks and then buy cheap (and lots. I'm washing every day thanks to baby sick, milk and copious sweat which has been the bane of my life since the birth. Glamour is clearly my middle name Hmm).

Tell me about it! Kids.. pah!

Well, in that case check out Great Plains sale, House of fraser sale (I just bought a great dress 1/2 price), Isabella Oliver 365 stuff is gorgeous for jerseywear, Zara sale should start anyday and they have some lovely tops etc, also look at H&M for trousers, I love their crops..

I'd try and get:

2 x cropped trousers

these are great, I have 3 pairs, and at £3.99 a complete bargain! team with breton t or navy T.. this colour goes with anything

Banana republic sale crops

Some vests and layering T's
this would look good with those camel H&M trousers

A decent lightweight scarf to team with anything
like this

Some blouson tops which are elasticated hem (sounds grim but there are loads about and it completely hides a muffin top)

I have this in navy

A boucle blazer (zara has many and these look FAB with jeans
pair of flats

I have this in XL (size 16) and it fits a dream... it'll go in the sale I bet!
