Palazzo trousers - yes or no?

I am a size 14 and 5ft 9in (34 in inside leg) and was considering buying some palazzo trousers. the high waist and wide leg will hide a multitude of sins.

But I fear they were solely made for the size 8 people.

Are they slimming?

Are they just too cool for a mum of two with a flabby belly?

Any really nice patterns out there?

Or are they a total no-no?

I'm usually a size 14 but only 5ft tall so they're definitely a no no for me! They'd be as wide as they are long!

Im 5 5 and a bigger sized 14. I hve a navy and white spotted pair and a white and black pair both from Asda. Ive never had so many people stop and ask me where ive gotten something from!

I didnt realise until DD pointed it out the pattern on the white ones were parrots!
