Need a new moisturiser (now I am getting decrepit).

My skin has always been on the oily side of combination, but it's changing now I'm getting a bit older.
My T-zone remains slightly oilier and has large pores, but the skin on my cheekbones and along my jawline is becoming drier and more fragile feeling. So I think I need to change my moisturiser to work with my changing skin.
Can anyone recommend an effective moisturiser that stops the skin on my cheeks getting dry and flaky, but doesn't make my T-zone even more unmanageable? Oh, and I'm a bit skint so I need high street prices.

Many thanks

Do you use a serum? I tried it out a couple of years ago and now can't do without, what a difference! I use Olay Regenerist and that's great, wee bottle but lasts a long while. As an additional moisturizer I'm trying out the Simple one, not too bad and cheap! Also inexpensive but strangely good was Waitrose's Baby Bottom Butter Hmm I know, but just a teeny tiny bit was great for face and it's absolutely wonderful slathered on elbows and other dry-prone areas too. I'd check out Sali Hughes articles in the Guardian - she seems to know her stuff and you can search her previous columns for relevant beauty solutions.

Thanks Better - I have been using a serum (something by Decleor) but am not convinced that it is helping TBH. I'll take a look at the products you mention.
It's scary how set in my ways I seem to have got when it comes to skincare and sort of missed recent developments.

It's very true, I've only recently come to the realisation that I can't carry on buying the same products as I used to 15 years ago! Have just been coasting along on auto-pilot, and can't afford the high-end stuff tbh.
This was highly recommended in Hughes' last column as a cheap and effective serum: Aldi Lacura Multi-Intensive Serum, £3.49, She said
"My Facebook group started evangelising about this and they were right. Wake up to soft, bright, plump 30+ skin." If you try it, let me know how you like it.

That sounds like a bargain Fresh - I might have to pop into Aldi and take a look. Thanks.

second the Aldi moisturisers, day and night creams. They sold out a few years back after a magazine rated it more highly than much more expensive products. I have been using it since (can't remember exactly which one and am not at home -can check later if you like) but I am pushing 50 and it works for me. Cheap enough to give it a go and see what you think.
