Could anyone recommend a vitamin / beauty supplement to take? Getting married in under 3 months and every week I tell myself to get to boots but the choice is rather overwhelming. I'm 32, tired, slightly frazzled so a few stress spots but nothing hideous....! I want clear, smooth, glowing goddess skin....I know, tall order! Any advice would be great. Thank you!

start having facials every few weeks. They made more of a difference to My skin than anything I've ever done

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/06/2012 19:00

Cybbo - how did that acid work out?

Tenminutes - I think lots of exfoliation and drinking plenty of water and eating healthily make a big difference.

cybbo · 12/06/2012 19:01

The acid was efFective while I was using it regularly. Have slipped out of routine as I ran out of the neutraliser but am back on track now. It didn't fade my brown mark on cheek but def evened out the and made pores a bit smaller

I started having those carita facial (Amanda Holden has them doncha know......) but tried them twice and both times had an almighty headache for a week after so just gone back to the old fashioned normal ones!

My diet isn't great to be honest..... I really do need to step up or I'm going to really feel I let myself down come the big day x

what kind of facial do you get cyb

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/06/2012 19:55

My man who does reckons I need one of those chemical peel things to get rid of my brown spots on my face but I'm really not up for that.

I really like Ren stuff at the moment.

TenMinutesLate · 12/06/2012 20:02

Ooooo no, I don't fancy a chemical peel or anything like that.....ewwwew!!
Will take a look at Ren stuff though, thanks p!

Chemical peel sounds invasive and harsh, but it really isn't.It's a natural acid , it doesn't make your face 'peel' at all, despite the name

I was also advised by a skin expert that they would help my sun damaged huge pored skin but I've yet to see a reduction in freckles or brown spots

when I was having facials many moons ago,it was just a basic deep cleasing and extraction facial. If I could afford one every month I would have them.

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/06/2012 21:23

The ones my man does do make your skin peel - I saw the pictures! But this is a serious strength one

cybbo · 12/06/2012 21:43

I was offered those but couldn't bear the thought of red oozing sore skin crusting over! Mine 30% Glycolic acid

tyaca · 12/06/2012 21:57

ten minutes, the glycolic acide ones everyone's been doing really are amazing. i know it sounds scary, but it's just like a serum you put on your face for a couple of minutes. no peeling or redness if you do it right. i can't recommend this stuff highly enough, i feel like such a different person to two months ago. i use the 30% stuff from Bravura London. Try it! it's not scary or hardcore at all. If you don't want to risk the peel, Bravura also do a Glycolic acid night cream thing that looks quite good. It's their bestseller, so I"m guessing it gets quite good results.

Re supplements, there are lots of hair and skin brands around? You'd be better off eating better though, as you point out Grin.

TenMinutesLate · 12/06/2012 22:07

tyaca; Im definately going to look into...2 months you say???!!!! well, thats well within timeframe....just need to move aside from leftover jubilee stodge.....ooooo I'll let you know how i get on. Thank you!

Cybbo.....the episode where Samantha in SATC has one is deep rooted into my memory....how I hooted (but then I was 24 and had the skin of a bloody baby and didnt realise how lucky i was!)

My friend went for a course of crystal clear facials, her skin looked amazing after them, she looked like she had been airbrushed Grin

I've recently started taking a liquid vitamin D supplement and also an antioxidant called astaxanthin.

Astaxanthin is supposed to be amazing for anti-ageing and I can definitely see a difference - my skin tone is better, less dry, a bit more a glow. I am taking the vitamin D as I always cover up in the sun, but that is also good for anti-ageing so not sure which one is most effective!

FoxPass · 12/06/2012 22:32

I'm 32 too btw.
