HEEEEELLLLPPPP.......

Ok ladies your mission, should you choose to accept it....

I go back to work after 10 months off on maternity leave in three weeks time and desperately need to update my work wardrobe. Prior to finishing it consisted of a couple of pairs of black trousers, a grey suit and a few old tops. All of it very plain - usually black, white, purple or grey.

I am in a junior management position in an office environment and will either be seeking promotion or looking for a new job in the near future so need to look a lot more professional.

I am 5'6", very skinny and normally flat chested (34A) although I'm currently breast feeding so a bit bigger but obviously that won't last forever. I have shoulder length hair.

I normally live in jeans and t-shirts at home and prefer simple clothes. I don't tend to wear skirts but if I do they need to be knee / just below knee or longer.

Ideally I'd like a work wardrobe that can be chopped and changed. I already have one mid-grey suit and a black short sleeved cowl neck cotton dress that I want to keep. It also needs to include a cardigan / shrug as my office can get cold. I also need shoes as I normally just wear boots - not too high heels or too spikey as I can't walk in them.

Help prevent me from just buying the first four outfits that look OK in Next please!

Bumpety Bump

Also to add I have long legs, short body so any trousers need to be available in 34" leg.

Please help me find something....

I would invest in some good trousers and some nice tops that can mixed and matched, I would buy some skirts as well and a couple of dresses. If you keep the same tones in the skirts and trousers then you will be able to mix and match. Have a look at zara they have some nice tops. Add a couple of neutral cardigans and you are away. IMO you cant go wrong with a pair of killer heels but kitten heels might work better for you. I cant walk in wedges but that might be a solution for you. I would start by laying everything you have on the bed or floor and then work your outfits from there. That way when you go shopping you know what you need . Great plains have some nice tops as well .
