Hair dye advice?

Help me experienced hair dye-ers!!

I have had platinum blonde hair for as long as ive been dying my hair - for the last oooh 8 years, but decided recently that I fancied a change and to move to a more warmer darker shade.
So had hair dyed (semi perm) a lovely brown shade with red gold and brown tones (appetrntly you can just put a straight brown colour on freshly bleached hair as it will go khaki(?)) by lovely hairdresser over a week ago.
The colour turned out a beautiful dark blonde colour with tones of red in (think Cheryl coke in latest loreal ads), so was very pleased with my decision (and even tipped a tenner!).

However, after a couple of washes my hair is now orange, literally orange, and I feel hoorrriiible!! :-(

So my options are:

  1. go back to hairdresser (for which I really do not have the time as I am going away on sat and have a really busy week) and get same dye again
  2. go back and get permenant version applied (see option 1) in the hopes it will last longer, although it may not result in same lovely colour?
  3. go and buy a home dye kit - In god knows what colour, as I have never bought one before, or
  4. wash repeatedly with Head and Shoulders in the hopes all the orange will wash out and leave me with sparkling white blonde hair again?

So, wise S&B lot, which course of action should I take??!??! Aarrggghhhhh!!!!!

Definitely go back. That's just not acceptable after a couple of washes!

Don't touch it yourself. And don't keep washing it in the hope it will go back to blonde, I guarantee it won't, at best it'll look brassy and orange.

If you do need to dye it yourself, come back and I'll try to advise - but after having it done professionally and it only lasting a week, you really need to go back and tell them to put it right.

What she said about putting red back in is correct. Your semi permanent is washing out and leaving he red behind. You could buy a semi permanent from the chemist. To be honest you could phone your stylist and ask her what colour to buy.

Glad the colour choice seems to be correct then, just need to work out why it washed out so quickly. Sad
I'll call the hairdresser when they open in the morning, hopefully they might sort it out for free??
If they haven't got a slot I will definitely be buying a home dye before I go away this weekend. - What sort of one should I get (just in case I need to), a red-brown semi perm one again? Are there any brands that are better than others?
Ooh or would one of those brown 'colour-depositing' shampoos work?
Thanks for all your help and advice
