My 5 step plan for radiant glowing health!

Following a few weeks of booze and overwork I feel and look awful (think dull skin, spots and blackheads, eyebags and shadows, water retentive puffy stomach, red eyes, stinking cold) I need to moderate my lifestyle to be healthier and look better so I have come up with the following weekly plan:

5 alcohol free days
4 early nights (bed by 10pm)
3 x 30 mins exercise
2 litres of water minimum per day
1 marathon pamper session in the bathroom (masks/exfoliating/mani/pedi etc)

Not so much 'princessing' as essential maintenance!

I'm going to make a spreadsheet Grin

You could try to eat more raw foods and cut out dairy, sugar, wheat, and alcohol. Sounds good but in reality a nightmare.

I can't be doing with cutting out/giving up whole groups of food, it's not a long term solution for me so i'm not going to beat myself up over it. I already eat quite healthily but I will be making an effort to fit in more veggies and not too much processed stuff Grin

I need to do the same. Been drinking too much, got into the habit and need to break it. Generally get early nights anyway as I'm usually exhausted by 10, but exercise has gone by the wayside too. I keep telling myself I'll get back into shredding, but I need to just do it! I've given up diet coke which I also used to drink far too much of, and am drinking water instead, so that should help, although not sure if I get through the full 2 litres per day.
Like the sound of a marathon pamper session too!
I'm in.

I found that eating more raw food gave me a massive energy boost and made a quick difference to my skin and hair. It's not hard either - raw carrots, cucumber & celery easy and cheap snacks, make a spinach salad with raw sweet peas instead of steaming them.

I read this week that you don't actually need to drink vast amounts of water. Any excess, above what your body requires, just waters down your wee and has no benefit. I would just aim to cut down caffeine and alcohol.

I keep meaning to get into the habit of body brushing but keep forgetting.

Sounds like a great plan. Good luck.

Great idea. I've been using an Aveeno exfoliating face wash thing and have been really impressed by it - only about six pounds from Boots and has made my dull skin a bit more glowy.

I think the water thing is subjective. I drink looooooaaads of it. Any less than 2 litres (and often a lot more) and I'm guaranteed a stinking migraine. DH can drink barely a thimble full and be right as rain. It's never made a scrap of difference to how well I look, however.

Exercise (and quite blimming HARD exercise) is the only real thing that's ever made a difference to my skin, weight, sleep & general wellbeing, and that's what I'm not getting any more. Tons of walking, swimming and baby-wearing is a step in the right direction, but it's nothing like running a 10k before breakfast!
