Thankyou to everyone on here who, over the past few months, recommended Touche Veloutee by By Terry.

It actually works. Like for real. (I'm 38, a very shadowy, pale insomniac)
It has kind of changed my life.

Also sat here wearing my new La Roche Posay, another MN related find: not much chance of sun damage today though, sadly.

pooh - have I missed a MN must have? Are you using it under your eyes? Please tell all.

formerdiva · 09/06/2012 21:46

That was meant to be "ooh" by the way, not a strange reference to, erm, shit Grin

BetterChoicesChair · 09/06/2012 21:46

Yay for LRP. 'Tis my holy grail product Smile.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 09/06/2012 21:49

So does this magical stuff actually make the black hideousness go away? or is it just a posh panstick like everything else I've tried?

lololizzy · 09/06/2012 22:10

it goes a bit weird on me, texture wise so I gave up on it. I've just found it and wiped brush with anti bacterial wipe as it's been stored in bathroom cupboard for yonks . Going to give it one more go, this time with primer under it. It IS amazing for circles. Mine are horrific! I liked the product, it just didn't like me. On the basis of your posting..it's getting one more chance

I think By Terry stuff is generally brilliant. The lash thickening mascara definitely works and the foundations are lovely. The one dud product I've found is the Hydragluronic (?) face stuff. The baume de rose is my miracle product. I get awful cold sores and it really helps with them.

lololizzy · 09/06/2012 22:53

what are their foundations like, then? is there a good range eg shades / skin types

polyhymnia · 09/06/2012 23:09

Think they are brilliant. Really like their tinted moisturisers cream blush concealers eye shadow etc etcRecommend going in to Space NK for a play.

anniewoo · 09/06/2012 23:58

Twas Terry who developed Touche Eclat

monkeysmama · 10/06/2012 08:38

Their foundations are lovely. Thick when they come out but melt into the skin so easy to build up. I have yellow toned skin and find it hard to get a colour match but the Space NK woman found the perfect shade for me and it looks natural.

Love By Terry. The products have quite honestly changed my skin. The Huile de Rose oil is fantastic as is the brightening serum, Seve de Rose.

However, just bought the Grain de Rose exfoliant mask and it's perhaps my new favourite By Terry product.

And don't get me started on the make up! I'm a sodding By Terry addict.

Sorry I'm late to return, I thought the topic had got pushed back into the nether regions of mn.

I'm new to the By Terry range so can't offer an opinion of the foundation, but the reason I adore this is probably due to the texture: really soft, creamy, velvety and super light on my skin. I'm very fair/rosy and the palest shade seems to blend in perfectly with my skin tone (non yellowy), so maybe I've just got lucky actually locating a concealer which suits me at last. I also like the coverage, which is 'barely there' but does actually tone down the shadows one hell of a lot, without you having to gunk it on.

The overall effect is very subtle but effective, evens out skin tone nicely and just has a super smooth appearance, without that sort of obvious powdery texture many concealers & foundations (regardless if they're liquid) tend to leave.

Was previously using Clinique and Touche Eclat (for years) but the Clinique leaves a sort of bitty, flaky texture beneath my eyes for some reason, and the YSL stuff, of course, is much better for highlighting. Currently wear a Dior XP eye serum underneath (free sample from Debenhams).

Would definitely try this brand again, even though expensive. I don't mind spending on concealer though.

formerdiva I use it under my eyes and wherever there are shadows I prefer to minimize (side of nostrils, etc). I would basically apply it anywhere that needs a boost or to even out skin tone/texture also. I don't wear foundation, so would generally use concealer after moisturising and a dab of Clarins Instant Smooth (the only thing that I own which I would actually call a miracle product).

All I need to find now is a lip colour and cream blush which actually stays on for longer than 5 mins.

Shotgunnotdoingthepans I suppose it merely masks the shadows - doubt anything could actually cure mine, they appear to be genetic. But for my skin type, it definitely masks them well, without being 'obvious'.
