duo boots. Anyone recommend them?

I'm after a pair of boots for casual to wear with skinny jeans, skirts and dresses. I have several pairs of smart ones from LK Bennett and Russell and Bromley but they just don't go with my life at the moment. I had a pair of Fly boots for about 3 years and they have been rather rubbish at letting water in. Even if I walk over the wet grass in the garden I have wet socks which is so annoying. So whilst I think I want some gortex style fashion boots I wondered if Duo were any good. Perhaps my fly ones have just been particularly crap.I know I can wear wellies/snowboots etc if it's torrential on the school run but I want to know that if I wear a pair of boots and walk through a puddle or a bit of wet I'm not going to get soaked like I do with my fly boots. Have seen a few I really love so am hoping for some good reviews of them!

I have had a couple of pairs of duo boots and they are very good quality and have lasted a couple of winters with no problems. Have worn them in the rain and have had no problems with soggy feet etc. They are expensive but I think defintely worth it.

Agree with ninja! I've got a pair of duo boots that are still going strong after 6 years! Excellent quality and customer service.Highly recommended.

I have a 5 year old pair of Duo boots. Not heavily worn as a bit too smart for me, but have worn them in rain etc without trouble. My Fly boots on the other hand ... love them but I have permanently wet feet. So in short Duo boots more water repellent than Fly but I think that just means Duo boots are normal but Fly boots seem to have a water transfer device to ensure really wet feet. I have found that using lots of waterproofing spray on the Fly ones helps... I agree, you don't want wellies or similar but just to know if you get caught in the rain that you will get home with dry feet. I am going through the same trauma and am coming to the conclusion that the Fly ones make you think all shoes let in water. They don't.

I bought My DH bought these for my bday tamora boot in Aug, i've put them away...(knaws at fingers). I've bought a few times from them and always been impressed with quality and customer service.

That's brilliant, thanks! I think my fly boots have just ruined my confidence in boots. My R&B ones and LK Bennett ones I used to wear for work but then they weren't right when I had children for going to park etc. My DD starts school in sept and I don't want to have to don my wellies when there is just a trickle of rain but my fly ones just make my feet soaking as you say Sonotkylie. So relieved duo are normal! Will get some. Thinking of going down to London for a trying on session with my mum who wants to get fixed up too! Thanks all.

Another Duo fan here. Buy a new style every year and they are all still going strong.

If you can make it into one of the Duo stores, it will save a lot of hassle. I ended up buying a different style and a different size to what I'd have done online.
It must cost a fortune to send the boots back if they're no good!

I agree with blue2 as they are calf fitted which means you sometimes have to play about with sizes first. I ended up having a 41 when I am a 42 in every other store.
