and I'm all sensitive skin and little spots! It looks worse than when it was hairy! By the time it all clears up again it'll be time to wax it again. Sad
What am I doing wrong?

Bleach, my friend. BLEACH!

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 06/06/2012 20:49

did you use the sensitive strips? are you pulling the skin taut?

i can't use bleach as makes me come out in a rash (and just gave me a big bond moustache) and have found waxing gives a longer lasting and cleaner result

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 06/06/2012 20:49

and did you put soothing cream on afterwards?

Put salon on afterwards and then DON'T TOUCH

sunnysunnyshine · 06/06/2012 21:07

No help I'm afraid but hoping someone will advice soon...

Was thinking of waxing my tasche too but worried now. How long have you had the spots for so far? I usually bleach but then blonde hairs are still visible, especially in the sun.

Hate being hairy of face :(

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/06/2012 21:09

Threading my good women, threading. It's like plucking just superfast. No more slathering poisonous crap/hot wax on your skin.

sunnysunnyshine · 06/06/2012 21:09

Oops x-posted with everyone!

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 06/06/2012 21:13

i use the veet wax strips

i had my eyebrows threaded before my wedding and she cut me

alwaysrunninginheels · 07/06/2012 07:13

I had that problem...followed by spots when waxing and threading tash. Took almost as long as for the spots to clear as the tash to regrow. So now have tweezers in the car and when ever I stop at traffic lights I can see in the glare of the sun(was always the car mirrors I noticed the blooming thing in at first originally) I whisk out the worst offenders. Not sure if tis the gradual approach but I have had no further redness or spots....of course you do then have to accept the kids will ask what on earth you are doing and other drivers will look at you oddly!!!!!!

lilolilmanchester · 07/06/2012 08:24

I've had this both times I've had mine waxed (in a salon) and also with threading. Back to bleaching for me, unless someone comes up with a miraculous way to avoid it.

TheGruffalosbitch · 07/06/2012 09:10

Hair removal cream is the only thing that doesn't break me out!

EverybodysSleepyEyed · 07/06/2012 19:35

have you tried doing it at home rather than at the salon? I find the hot wax leaves me with a rash but the veet sensitive strips don't

nothingoldcanstay · 07/06/2012 20:10

Smooth appeal micro wave wax is my tash remover of choice.

Bung it in for 1 min. slather it on. rip it off (no strips needed). Done

lechar101 · 07/06/2012 20:28

3 days later and I am still getting new whitehead spots. I used at home sensitive wax strips and used the wipe thing that came with afterwards. I get my eyebrows threaded from time to time, but find that the same thing happens to the part in between my eyebrows. Sad
The old tache would have been quite blond anyway so bleaching isn't really an option. Will I veet it then next time? Would that not be just worse?
Thanks all for replying Smile

don't use hair removal cream

have you considered just plucking the bad ones every evening if they are blond anyway?

fannyandrews · 07/06/2012 20:34

I use talc, did you? If I don't it irritates my skin.

PuffPants · 07/06/2012 20:38

Threading - I am a recent convert after many years of self-conscious bleaching. It kills the first time but is much easier with subsequent visits and very effective. It leaves me red and a bit numb for about an hour no more. Much gentler on the skin - try it!

tittytittyhanghang · 07/06/2012 20:41

I second veet also, I just use the body strips cut up smaller, and my skin is fine.

bibbitybobbityhat · 07/06/2012 20:45

Have them threaded or do diy threading at home (there are how to vids on You Tube) but you must cleanse the area thoroughly with a mildly antiseptic toner - Body Shop tea tree a good bet - immediately afterwards. Closes the pores, see? You will look a bit pink/red for a few hours, so I prefer to do all this kind of maintenance at home.
