please give me your Coconut Oil tips! What can I use it for?

I've kept this out of date tub of coconut oil in the fridge for about 2 years - used to cook with it but kind of forgot about it, and because it was quite expensive I never chucked it out! It's past the "best by" date so I won't use it for cooking now, although it looks, smells and feels how it always did .... but I am fine about using it on my body!

What can it be used for other than hair conditioner and moisturiser? I have a load to use up!!

Oh, you know - once-sumptuous cleavage that has seen a little too much sun and has gone crepey.

I realise it comes to us all but I want to fend it off as long as poss Grin

Dunno why your coco-oil smelt bad - mine smells like a Bounty Bar. Albeit one that has been left on the dashboard of a hot car.

I did mine last night

Went to bed slippery as an eel but it's deffo worth it.

Incidentally, has anyone seen that amazing animated film Persepolis? It's about an Iranian family, and the girl remembers that her grandmother had a figure like a young woman, and that every day she would wash her breasts in ice cold water, and fill her bra with rose petals!

No intention of going quite that far, mind...

nilbyname · 08/06/2012 09:03

I did it last night, and my décolletage defiantly feels smoother. I am a bugger for letting that area get too much unintentional sun.

I like the idea of rose petals in my bra but the icey cold water...not so much! What is the benefit to that anyway?

JodieHarshHasALumpyPennie · 08/06/2012 09:06

Hurrah! It's amazing how much it helps. I am quite bosomy (as my Ma used to say) - 36FF - but not as big I was when I was a reet fat lass (I believe I was something like 42G at one stage), and so the skin around the sides, as it were, tends to look a little sorry for itself, having been asked to bear too much weight for some years Sad. 2-3 days of soaking in coconut oil and it's astonishing the difference it makes.

I think the iced water must be for toning and the rose petals for scent, I guess? Though of course the roses would release oils through the day, which would also be good for the skin...

Correction - jasmine, not roses! Thanks, Mr Wiki.

This sounds incredible. I lurked on this feed yesterday and used it as a cleanser last night with my Liz Earle cloth and my skin felt soo good. Will def be keeping it up.
