Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this; I usually use a Chanel eyeshadow base which is pearlescent white like a liquid when it goes on and then dries to almost a powder, it makes my eyeshadow look so much deeper and last all day... but apparently it has been discontinued with no alternative product, so if anyone uses an amazing eyeshadow base or primer which does the same thing could you please tell me what it is as my eye make up looks rubbish today Grin

I use the Urban Decay one and it is brilliant. Only use about the size of a grain of rice, and use it every time I use shadows (most days). I bought it in November and have barely scratched the surface. It was a costly layout at about £13 but overall it has been good value. My eyeshadow never budges or creases when I use it.

My sister likes the Benefit one.

I used to use Urban Decay, forgot it when I went away with work and bought the Barbara Daly one from Tesco to tide me over. Cheap as chips and I prefer it to Urban Decay - it's a bit thicker, which some people not like, but for older folk like me, it has the added bonus of masking a bit of the old crepey eyes!

Just to update, the elf primer was rubbish, so I splashed out on the Urban Decay Primer Potion and it's great, not as good as the Chanel one which made my eyeshadow really vibrant but at almost half the price I can live with it Grin

I use the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. I've tried both UD and Too Faced previously. I found the UD to be too thick (and thus it ended up creasing) and have been told it dries out quite quickly in the new tube packaging. The Too Faced suited me better - it's thinner but even though I have oily-ish lids it was much more effective. I had one tube for 18 months and used it almost every day so it's probably the most economical. The NARS is my new favourite as it's easy to apply (doe foot applicator) and works as well as the Too Faced, possibly a little better in terms of staying power, actually.

I've tried the cheap £1.50 alternative from ELF and whilst I liked it - it was just okay and didn't control creasing as well as the TF or NARS.

Hope that helped!
