And do you think other people would describe you the same way?

50'S pin-up on a budget Grin

Confused!
I rarely seem to get it just right. Am I classy chic, or casual mum, or

slightlycrumpled · 04/06/2012 16:07

See, I said I was confused I posted mid typing! Grin

Well I'd like to say elegant and understated but that's probably just vanity

I can't define it. There's probably too much matching and toning going on, but then again I am an old lady (45) and that sort of thing is inevitable with age. Like wearing purple.

You tell me what I am. I am a size 8 and am a bit scruffy as have been gardening, but today I am wearing:

Underwear - matching spotty things from M&S
Jeans - beige skinny with a hint of bootleg from French Connection
Top - strappy dark brown from Hobbs
Shirt (unbuttoned) - brown silk with white polka dots from Hobbs
Shoes - dark grey vans for the garden

Make-up - none
Jewellery - pearl drop earrings, wedding and engagement rings, watch
Nails - filthy now following tackling the weeds. Normally unmanicured but clean.

Oh good question!
I often get complimented by friends, colleagues and other mums on what I'm wearing and I definitely have a certain 'style' but not sure how it would be defined?
I wear a uniform of slim / skinny jeans with stripy breton style tops. I accessorise with scarves and chunky necklaces. I wear with Ash wedge trainers or low wedge ballet type shoes.
Sometimes I take a break from the stripes and wear pretty cotton / lace blouses with wedges or heels
I also do spotty tea style dresses with opaques or French Connection printed jersey dresses. I add a cropped cashmere cardi if needed. Sometimes wear with brogues or heeled shoe boots

Hardly setting the fashion world alight but it seems to work for me Grin

Arty. Lots of vintage stuff, customised by messing with sleeves, waistbands etc. lots of prints and colours. Your basic average nightmare to your minimalist. I shop at charity emporia and eBay and when flush will hit Jigsaw, a Dartmouth boutique called stardust (fab), mistral etc etc. I get compliments from arty friends and strange looks from others. 60s stuff. My mum always says I was born too late.
Little skirts and lots of eyeliner.
Dd criticizes me for wearing too much black, but it matches everything Blush and I usually have a bright cardi lurking in my bag.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/06/2012 16:45

Retired goth with hints of Minnie Mouse, all crossed with a slightly evil pixie, I'd say.

Charliefox · 04/06/2012 17:27

Smart casual. Or scruffy tramp when slobbing at home.

StellaAndFries · 04/06/2012 17:32

Rockabilly/50's pin up.

mrscumberbatch · 04/06/2012 17:38

I'm another Rockabilly gal with Gothy tendencies!

Or just a hot mess. Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/06/2012 18:00
