When did your CS scar soften?

Just curious. 7 weeks on my scar is looking much better but the scar tissue under the skin is noticeably hard still (which I expected) I just wonder how long it took for yours to soften.

I am massaging it for a few minutes daily with bio oil and using silicon strips every day. TIA

I am two years on and mine is barely visible and softened. It gets there gradually. I didn't use any bio oil or do anything special it has just healed over time.

I don't think men was ever hard tbh - a female surgeon delivered ds and I think she did a fab job as she was pregnant herself so perhaps did an extra neat job. MIne looks like a line on the palm of your hand now - you'd have to really look hard to see it.

mine

After 2 cs the scar was pretty ragged, the third the surgeon straightened it up, but it is still there, but pale and with little feeling(14 yrs ago) But on the bright side, the over hang completely hides it!

2 years down the line mine still has a bit of red thick skin at one side, I don't think anything makes it heal quicker, it just takes time.

I have not had a CS, but the silicone gel/plasticcy strips/patches really do help in flattening scars. The creams are nowhere near as good.

Sadly you have to use them every day for months to do much good, and they are not cheap.

Thanks everyone. Seems that as with everything else, hugely variable! At least it's out of sight, but a shame about the overhang with these horizontal scars, one day I'll try and tone it up down there!!

Soften? I don't recall it ever being hard Confused. I've had two and certainly didn't do anything to them afterwards.
