You know. I've been wondering ...
Lots of posts on mn mention sillage (the radius of the scent) and lasting-power as factors when looking for a perfume.
Am I the only person who doesn't always want a perfume with the sillage of a nuclear strike and a lasting-power of 24 hours?
Yes, when I am looking for an evening perfume, I sometimes want something a little aggressive, that perhaps is going to fight for its own space in a crowded area and go the distance, time-wise.
But surely there is a place for the intimate and gentle? Perfumes for when you are pottering close to home, and can top them up? To be enjoyed by just you, or you and your nearest and dearest? Or even that you are going to wear for a bit and then, because you are a creature of moods, be altered, or replaced, by another scent, at another point in the day?
Am I the only person who rather dislikes the intrusion of "nuclear-option" perfumes into the day-time - with the corresponding feeling of irritation when, say, you get on a tube and feel like gagging because someone has doused themselves in something really strong that you, actually, don't like, but are forced to inhale because it is, actually, strong to the point of being impolite, rude, and a bit selfish?
Or am I just a complete weirdo?
