That's it really. I'm thinking layers and soft fabrics. Smile

Non creasing, soft fabric, layers, easy to get on and off shoes. I usually wear leggings, jersey tunic and cardi with flip flops or pumps, or a maxi skirt.
Being small of nork, I wear a vest with support rather than a bra.
Comfort is all, and nothing worse than something that digs in.

valueadd · 31/05/2012 18:31

It can get cold too, so make sure you layer up.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 31/05/2012 18:34

I usually wear linen type trousers, flat shoes/converse, top/tunic and cardigan and always take a large, soft pashmina with me as I get freezing on long haul flights.

Last year when travelling to Egypt I wore a long maxi dress, ballet pumps, cardigan and took pashmina with me, I was comfortable and warm enough. Couldnt understand why the hostess was giving out blankets until the return flight. Coming from 40C back to the UK 'summer' temperature it was very welcome. Smile

Dress & leggings & a scarf for me. I also wear a support vest rather than a bra so I can sleep better. Flat shoes. Socks on or in my bag as I get cold feet on planed. I also have layers cardi or long sleeve shirt that I can take on and off.

wide leg roll-top jersey yoga-style trousers (from White co) for me, with vest top, nice hoodie (also from white co).
also have worn jersey dress, with cardi over.
cotton jersey def comfy. fluffy socks.

AdventuresWithVoles · 01/06/2012 09:23

Loose fitting layers.

This isn't the first time I've said it, and it probably won't be the last, but NO to trousers long haul. You have to drop them to go to the loo. The loo is unisex. On a long haul flight. Men. In a bouncy plane. Trying to aim. They can't at the best of times. It is horrendous. You don't want to be dropping your hems in that.

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 01/06/2012 13:28

ah yes jan I now have a 'special way' for going to the loo on a long haul flight. It involves pulling the bottom of my trousers UP and holding and pulling top of trousers down and holding. Tis a skill I have mastered over the years.

exexpat · 01/06/2012 13:35

Loose, comfortable layers. No belt - you will probably have to take it off to go through security if it has a metal buckle. Slip-on shoes - again, you may have to take them off for security, and you'll want to slip them on and off for going to and from the loo during the flight. No metal watches, large hairclips etc (set off security scan alarms...). I take a large cotton jersey scarf/wrap thing (or a warmer pashmina sort of thing if travelling in winter) which is usually nicer than the airline blankets to wrap round me if the airconditioning is too cold.

janinlondon · 01/06/2012 13:40

Good grief Jax! I hope you never hit turbulence while trying to maintain that configuration!!!

Sonotkylie · 01/06/2012 16:15

Just bought jersey long harm pants from Hush for just this problem (and also sitting on British beaches in 'summer'). Fitted ankles (deals with splash issues) but comfy and cool( in every sense). Layer vest, shirt cardi/ jacket on top, poss with scarf. Sorted. Flat shoes, socks etc as above

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 01/06/2012 16:17

Why a velour tracksuit, high top trainers and gold hoop earings. Doesn't everyone?

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 01/06/2012 16:28

jan no turbulence when you turn left. Wink They wouldnt dare!

AdventuresWithVoles · 01/06/2012 16:32

I loathe wearing skirts, so trousers for me.
BUT I did pick up a nasty tummy bug on one flight

NoWayNoHow · 01/06/2012 16:40

If I'm flying long haul somewhere warm, then I do long sleeve top and leggings with dress over it, and as we get closer I will take the under layers off. Vice versa if it's warm here and cold where I'm going (this it rare!)

Alternatively, if I'm flying short haul and am trying to go with handluggage only, then I will wear all my heaviest, bulkiest gear (jeans, jumpers, coats, etc).
