Eyebrow shaping?

MoreCatsThanKids · 30/05/2012 17:43

DD is 13 and wants to shape her eyebrows for first time. They are straight and quite dark but not 'bushy' or mono brow. Blush
I have offered to pay for them to be done at her hairdresser but she says this would be embarrassing Hmm and she wants me to pluck them for her.
I really dont want to mess them up - i had mono brow tendancy in my youth and plucked mine to thin line (was the 80's!) Dont want to do this to her also can imagine her hitting ceiling at first 'pluck' and that being end of it. (i just pluck odd stays from mine everyday so is just maintainace for me)

Any tips - what is current method of choice?

I would just remove the obviously "stray" hairs that sit underneath the main eyebrow shape iyswim, and any that sit on the bridge of the nose.

If you do it straight after a long hot shower or bath that will make it easier as the hair follicles are looser. Alternatively, try an ice cube to numb the skin. Also helps if she pulls the skin to the side a bit to stretch it so it's more taut. No way to make it totally painless though, if she wants it done she'll put up with it!

There are some videos on youtube (look up "eyebrow shaping") which might help.

Hi there, if you have a Blink Brow Bar nearby I'm pretty sure they do packages and treatments for younger girls that aren't too expensive - sometimes its better to have them professionally done the first time (speaking from experience!)

I agree with Tinker. Where I am we have eyebrow threading places, that are very popular with young girls.
