Help me look older!

So, you fabulous image gurus, I have an interview next week, for a job I really want and know I can do well? I am 37 and very well-qualified (if I do say so myself). I recently met a mutual contact of one of the interview panel who was shocked to hear my age ? (I truly am not showing off and this is not something I hear often!) ? but from the perspective of a man in his sixties he felt I looked young for the role?

I suppose I am looking for guidance as to how to dress with gravitas for the interview. Obviously all the usual; well-cut, elegant clothes, flattering but minimal make-up, discrete jewellery but anything else??

It?s not a formal, business suit attire type of world and is a fairly male dominated industry. I?m abroad somewhere approaching winter. Was thinking boots, black wool trousers, maybe a jacket? Am about 5?7?, long blonde hair, size 12, quite curvy and getting curvier by the day?

Any magic insights to make me look more ?serious?, pretty please?

I wouldn't wear trousers for an interview.

you can have my 2 kids for the weekend ;-) that ll age you nicely!

Think you ve got the right idea. remember it s more about the attidude of confidence - if hey see that you re comfortable and confident i your skin, it ll assure them that you re assured, professional and competant and capable of making decisions and calls that need to be made.
I think it s no harm to acknowledge that you re female though, even when you work in a male dominated world - my SIL works in a very male dominated environment, she s one of the MD s and has worked her way up, she alwsy say this too. Never be afraid to be female, too often women try to blend into the boys club so dont be afraid to add a splash of colour, string women are great leaders and employees I d even wear an interview appropraite dress with jacket or suit etc. Good luck with the interview

Honestly, even without it being a formal, buiness suit attire, wear a dark trouser suit, possibly with a bright polo neck rather than blouse? I know it sounds extreme but consider cutting your hair into a sharp bob. I know you shouldn't need to, appearence should make no difference at all - but unfortunately first impressions do count.

Good luck with the interview!

Hmmm... do they make wigs in grey bobs? Wink
