Anyone got a Green Beauty Bible that could answer a few question please?

Can anyone tell me is Decleor considered ?green? and how many daisies they usually get. I?m really tempted by QVC TSV.

I tried to order the book recently, but was told by Amazon it was out of stock and they didn?t expect it to come back into stock soon. Does anyone know if that means there is a new edition coming soon?

Finally am I right in assuming Liz Earle, L?Occitane and Bare Minerals are ranges that are green. I?m trying to move all my skincare and household products over as I renew them and be more eco-conscious.

Many thanks
Abi

I've just had a quick flick through for you and can't find it mentioned anywhere.

Thanks

Abi I have it, but even before being given it I knew that although the brands featured in it are supposedly green, a lot of them do still contain silicones, mineral oil and some parabens.
Liz Earle skincare does not, but her make up does.
Bare Minerals does not.
L'Occitane does.
Decleor I think does not.
Hope this helps, it depends on what ingredients exactly you are trying to avoid.
If it helps, I write about it, yumetcetera.com

Thanks MissFoodie, I'll head over to your website now. It's silicones and parabens I'm particualrly looking to avoid, plus the usual suspects: SLS, DEA, etc.

ok, it's silicones that seem to creep in to everything, even the "green" labels, essentially, check the ingredients listing and look out for anything ending in *one, eg dimethicone

Thank you. Just back from your website (I really ought to be doing some work!) It's great. I'm amazed how many brands there are out there I'd never heard of, so thank you for the reviews and links.

no problem, have been a bit lax recently but about to put a few more on there, can totally recommend Antipodes, it's not expensive either.

Am going to publish 5 essentials for the hot weather (!) too

Have a look at Naturisimo.co.uk or mypure.co.uk for products which meet your criteria. Free postage too. Neither of them stock Bare Minerals but you can get that on feelunique.com (.co.uk ? ).

Miss Foodie I hold you personally responsible for my spending on lovely green skincare Smile.

caffine Grin
yes, those two sites are good, there are a couple more, can't remember names right now though, but generally by googling you get a good price comparison

MissFoodie, if you ever get time to look at suncreams and fake tans on your website I'd be really interested.

for body I rate Green People, for face I like John Masters Organics spf 30, but Green People is also good for face.
Jason do a kids' suncream in a green bottle, can't remember the name, it's good also if a little white.
Tbh I don't do fake tan but I did try BeauBronz which is very natural (I'm pale) and doesn't have any parabens in it either.

MissFoodie · 28/05/2012 13:37

Also, Melvita do a DHA free fake tan
