Hi has anyone had one? Do you like it? How long did it take before you can run and go to the gym again?

I just finished bfeeding dd2 and I'm left with shrivled little things Sad

OP posts:

I have had one. After breast feeding my two dds I just had flaps of skin and I felt pretty awful about myself. I am really pleased I had a boob job and it is not something I went into lightly. To be honest I felt really well a couple of hours after the op but you are advised to take it easy eg no lifting for 2 weeks and no gym for about a month also no driving for about 2 weeks or so. Any other questions just let me know

KateSpade · 25/05/2012 21:12

i am actually very very Envy of you cazza

I had mine all planned, i have spent every spare moment for years researching boob jobs, and had one planned for August. Went downhill from the consultation. The clinic i was going to get it done at was offering it for £3,000. Fantastic. I was going to get finance, however their idea of finance was talking to you about opening a credit card, and i am not prepared to do that. + other boring complications. Absolutely Devastated its not happening.

(& my DD won't be 1 and you are meant to wait a year before having breast surgery.)

My breasts are fine, average D size, but id like a better silhouette I'm hourglass and i quite simply want bigger boobs, like all the other boob job people. Grin

I was told normal exercise to resume 6 weeks after boob job. & Sports bra must be worn for 6 weeks, and underwires can be worn after that time.

Oh, dear sorry for the essay. Its an Issue close to my heart (excuse the pun)

madmomma · 25/05/2012 21:19

hmm I'm considering one now I've finished having babies, but DH is against the idea. I don't know which is more unfeminist: wanting a tit job or not having one cos DH doesn't want me to!

KateSpade · 25/05/2012 21:25

Not having one because your DH doesn't want you too. Its your body do not take his opinion into consideration.

Except for money wise.

Yeah it's not the money, he just thinks fake tits are vulgar + don't feel nice and mine are nice as they are.

KateSpade · 25/05/2012 21:50

Their are different types of implants now, theirs one i think its a called a tear drop, or its that shape and its made that shape to be natural. Also, if you choose a good surgeon he'll be able to do them so they look as natural as possible. Ive seen all types.

Ones you'd never guess and ones where people must have asked to have basketballs on their chests.

By the money thing madmomma I meant talk about if you can afford it as a family, it sounded very unfeminist and almost like i was telling you to go and ask him for four grand.

madmomma · 25/05/2012 22:15

haha no I know what you meant. It's the feel he doesn't like, aswell as the look, but I think he might change his mind in a few months when I've lost the baby-weight of all 3 kids and I'm back to pingpong balls in socks!

cazza40 · 25/05/2012 22:16

My dh was against it too but now it's done comments quite often how good they look. I really was unhappy and it did make a difference to how I felt about myself. I had them done about 6 years ago and did not go too big they do look quite natural. They are not worth getting into debt for though. I also waited until I had had my second and last dd and had finished breast feeding. I did not wait a year though after finishing breast feeding more like 4 months or so.

madmomma · 25/05/2012 22:23

thanks cazza. food for thought.

Sparklegeek · 25/05/2012 22:33

My DH was exactly the same, initially was dead against the idea, in the end ended up paying for it as a Xmas present & thinks they're great! I had mine done 4 years ago when I was done with babies. I think I went back to the gym after a couple of months. Now they are just part of me & I cringe when I see old photos!

madmomma · 25/05/2012 22:35

does it nag at you that you'll have to go back under the knife for the upkeep?

Sparklegeek · 25/05/2012 22:37

Madmomma, no, because you don't have to have them replaced every 10 years as a matter of course any more. If I don't have any problems then mine can stay in forever. Of course, that may not be the case so you do have to go into it with your eyes open & realise there may be more surgery & expenditure down the line.

cazza40 · 25/05/2012 22:38

No don't mind if I have to have another op - probably because I recovered so quickly from the first one. I do appreciate I am older so it may take longer to recover I am 41 now and had the op at 35.

madmomma · 25/05/2012 22:41

hmmm you're selling it to me actually.
did anyone have a lift at the same time?

cazza40 · 25/05/2012 22:49

No lift just the implant - a surgeon could advise you re lift which I guess would make it more expensive. I am pleased but it took a long time for me to finally make my mind up about getting it done

jellybeans · 25/05/2012 22:56

They can take a while to fill up again; a good few months or more. Failing that, the pill/mirena coil worth trying. Just an idea.

DinahMoHum · 26/05/2012 07:33

i had one a couple of years ago with an uplift. I was done with baby days and left with two flaps of empty skin which i hated and am really pleased I had them done

madmomma · 26/05/2012 07:40

jellybeans I loathe hormonal contraceptives -I get so moody on them. (it is a good idea though, and cheaper than implants!)
