What do people with big boobs wear on v hot days!

I could wear pretty summer dresses with no vest top underneath but then my boobs are practically falling out of them which isn't terribly practical. If I wear a vest top underneath-it feels bulky and hot!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Cotton, Cotton, Cotton, then it doesn't get too hot. I wore a vest top and skirt today.

SarkyWench · 25/05/2012 20:03

Not sure I understand the problem. What sort if dresses are you wearing?
I tend to wear dresses, but it is hard to find ones that fit.

WyrdMother · 25/05/2012 20:06

If letseatgrandma and I are having the same experience it is that our boob volume is not covered by the cut of most summery dresses and therefore there is acres of boob or bra on show.

That's my experience anyway, I also have it with swimming costumes.

SarkyWench · 25/05/2012 20:13

Ok. I get it now.
I guess I just don't buy strappy dresses but go for ones with cap sleeves.
French connection and mango were good for these last season. Haven't really looked much this year.

MamaLazarou · 25/05/2012 20:16

I have F-cups and wear strappy dresses with no problems. Sod wearing a vest underneath, that defeats the whole point.

Pinot · 25/05/2012 20:17

Yes, I hate the chasm of brassiere on show.

I have no advice though, just lower standards :)

HeeHeeHeeBum · 25/05/2012 21:27

pinot that is the best suggestion I've seen :o

AngelsWithSilverWings · 25/05/2012 21:36

Watching with interest.

34gg here! It's a nightmare. I hate having loads of cleavage on show.

I did buy a nice summery cowl neck sleeveless tunic in Sainsbury this week which I can wear with skinny jeans or leggings.

Have also learned an easy way to convert a high round necked top into a more flattering v neck ( just four easy stitches)

GiantPuffball · 25/05/2012 21:36

Bravissimo have some nice sun dresses

AngelsWithSilverWings · 25/05/2012 21:41

Bravissimo/pepper worry do have done nice stuff but the biggest complaint from the customers on their Facebook page is that the dresses are too cleavagy.

I have a few nice dresses from Pepperberry but they do seem to be a bit low cut!

AngelsWithSilverWings · 25/05/2012 21:43

Pepperberry not pepper worry!

Some not done.

Sorry about the typos!

GiantPuffball · 25/05/2012 21:45

I like this one

boredandrestless · 26/05/2012 09:12

I tend to try on dozens of dresses and find most of them don't cover my boobs.

I tend to avoid thin strappy dresses and go for more classic looks. I do do dresses though, don't look right in skirt and top combo. I just spend a LOT of time trying different dresses on.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/05/2012 09:27

I wear a vest under, or wear a skirt and top - I HATE cleavage on show, mine or anybody else's.

Would be v interested in the '4 little stitches' thing though, Angels.

gregssausageroll · 26/05/2012 09:27

Can you share that angels?

My issue is finding nice tops to wear that also have some kind of sleeve as I don't like my upper arms at all.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 26/05/2012 09:50

Converting a round neck to a v neck.

Ok I have only done this on jersey type tops or dresses so far. I tried it first on a £20 dress I fell in love with from Sainsbury,It worked really well. I would only do this on cheap everyday stuff really.

You take a round neck top.

Try your top on and just pull the middle of the neckline down with your finger to work out where you want the Point of the V to be.

If it's say 3 inches from where the neck line is at present then that is where you start your first stitch.

You then make four small stitches from your starting point and work up towards the neck before pulling the thread to gather the stitches together and then secure the thread so that the gathers stay in place.

I have zero sewing skills and got this right on my second attempt ( I didn't make the v deep enough first time)

I hope I've explained that Ok - I got the tip from a website for curvy girls! I'm out at the mo but when I get home I will find the website and give you the details as it had pictures to make it clearer.

Dollydowser · 26/05/2012 10:14

i've bought a couple of 'modesty panels' from Ebay for my Pepperberry dress the that shows a bit too much cleavage. Still not the perfect answer as it sits a bit high, but I may try pinning it on to my bra with mini safety pins, for days when its too hot to wear a camisole underneath.
