Should White Stuff tops last more than 15 months?

I buy a lot of stuff from Ws. A tunic which I bought in Jan/Feb 2011 and which has been worn about 10 times and gently washed according to their instructions is now full of tiny little holes. The holes are everywhere and looks like it's a complete breakdown of the (very thin) cotton material.

I don't have any problems with other clothes and don't suspect insects or moths.

I contacted WS today expecting them to ask me to send the offending item for them to look at. Unfortunately I received a very dismissive response explaining that they can only look at any items up to 6 months old - any older and they wouldn't be able to differentiate between wear and tear and a manufacturer's fault. In the same email they confirm that they have changed their suppliers and that quality is now improved - this to me indicates that they already know there is a fault with their previous supplier's garments but are using the 6 months excuse as a reason not to refund/exchange etc.

I am so annoyed with them and seriously considering not darkening their door with my presence ever again.

Is it normal for material to completely break down like this after just a few wears? If it was a £10 top from Primark I wouldn't mind so much but this cost me £39.

Would you peruse the matter further?

Grrrr. Angry

I'd pursue it. I've given up on WS because of the poor quality. I bought four white t-shirts last autumn and left one in the wrapper over winter. I opened it recently and it had a little hole in it but didn't have the receipt etc so I couldn't be bothered to take it back. I won't buy anymore as I had t-shirts last summer that developed holes in them. It is definitely a quality issue and the garment is not fit for purpose. It should last more than a dozen wears. Good luck.

I don't think White Stuff clothes wear well or wash well. I've bought quite a few bits and probably should have complained before now. I wish I had!
