Which shoes with this dress, please?

Having searched for ages for a dress for DPs cousins wedding, I have finally settled on this - I dont love it, but its not bad, so it'll do!

I am however stumped on what colour shoes to wear with it! The model in the pic has on some tan wedges which I have to say, arent really doing it for me! I thought maybe grey/silver, but everything I can find is peep toe (and mostly really really glittery, which i'm not so sure about!). Colour suggestions would really help but if anyone has any links to shoes that might work I'd be ecstatic! I'm open to all suggestions, although I cant do massively high heels (hidden platform is a plus if the heel is high), and i'm on a bit of a budget so cheaper is always better. I'm slightly carrot shaped so sandals look a bit rubbish, shoes seem to balance me out a bit more if that makes sense. Really grateful for any help given! Thanks in advance!

They look awfully middleaged to me but maybe they're nice IRL? I'd go darker than the dress given the choice

Zara patent leather slingback wedge in nude.

Office mid heel sandal with ankle strap and bow in neutral colour.

Coral kid suede but pricey.

Krazy.

Shiny tealish greenish on sale. But only size 3 left.

I think the mint suede are the wrong colour for your dress and they lack pizazz.

Thanks, youre right... I think I was getting a bit desperate! I am a bit chunky of ankle unfortunately and don't suit an ankle strap, but am grateful for the ideas because they are encouraging me to branch out! Sorry to go on and on about these bloody shoes, I really am getting pretty fed up of it myself so I cant imagine how you lot feel!

The shoe personality crisis issue is one I am familiar with...

Its ridiculous, I am so self conscious around DP's family, they are lovely but quite er.... straight laced, and I keep admiring 6inch heeled silver glitter platforms and then thinking "oh dear, what the hell would they make of these". Now i'm just starting to think "too bloody bad!".

Coral suede but limited sizes. The turquoise is lovely too but sizes are even more limited.

Nude court. Not stuffy but still plain.

Pinky gold beaded peep toe court shoes available in 3, 7, 8.

Also in turquoise

Maybe not great for ankles you describe?

Strappy but feminine red sandals

Beige or Chilli

We have success! After a lot of gazing at shoes that I didnt quite like, and a lot of wondering 'what colour was the dress again?!' I gave up somewhat and went for the safe option... these shoes. Theyre not as fabulous as a lot of the ones you all suggested but I will prob be able to walk/ceilidh in them for longer than I do in the ultra high heels I usually buy. And they were a bargain.

Thank you all again for your help, I really appreciated the time you all took to find shoes for me, for no benefit to yourselves!

YAY!! They're great little shoes, IMHO.

So, you all sorted now or do you still need a bag / jewellery / cover-up?

mathanxiety · 01/06/2012 17:59

Very lovely, and you would get wear out of them with other outfits and on other occasions too, so practical on top. I hope you'll have a great time.
