Eczema and sunscreen

Dd 16m gets eczema if her skin gets too dry. We're on holiday at the moment and she has had the worst flare up ever. My skin is also feeling painfully dry and itchy. We've been using the new Clarins sun care milk for children and I think this is what's causing it.

Is it because it's a mineral sun screen or just this sun screen is not good for her and another mineral sun screen would be?

Also, which sun screens are good for sensitive skin?

Could it be perfume in the clains stuff?

Some mineral sunscreens are very heavy on the zinc. I find that causes my skin to dry out and crack. However sudocreme is made almost entirely of zinc and it used to help eczema so perhaps I am wrong.

I find mineral sunscreen from green people which contains titanium dioxide instead of zinc works a treat and doesn't irritate.

Sorry no other useful suggestions

I had exactly same problem with DD, tried loads of different brands, all caused the excema to flare, i now use organic children sun cream, doesn't cause a flare up. Only goes to factor 25 though.

DS1 hasn't got eczema but reacts terribly to suncreams...he comes out in a really red itchy bumpy rash as soon as it goes on him. GP recommended Pro-derm sun mousse as it's been specifically made for people with eczema.

We've been using it for 3 years now and the whole family use it cause it's so good. Even managed to convert his teachers at school cause they were so impressed. It goes on like a hair mousse but isn't sticky at all.

The only one we can use is The Sun Mousse, same as pp.

Tried every single on out there and this was a lifesaver!!

Just been to the eczema education program and they recommend to use sun sense sun cream. just ordered yesterday so can not give the feed back on it yet

Thanks everyone. Thanks Natool - I think that's an Aussie one so I can get some on the next trip.

we have the same problem with ordinary sun cream. dermatologist has recomended using a gel instead because it doesn't block the pores so the skin doesn't overheat as easily.
we get on well with nivea light feeling lotion (was called gel before re-branding a few years ago) and haven't had problems or burns since then.

The Sun Mousse here as well
