Skin damage after BB concealer!

Is there anything I can put on to help it?

I used Boots Une BB Concealer and it blocked all the pores where my cheeks meet the skin under my eyes.

It went horrible and bumpy and painful to touch and now the skin near my eyes has gone a bit crusty (sorry) and is really sore. I can use anything on my face at the moment and the skin on my cheeks that went bumpy is really dry and flakey now.

I used it twice.

What the hell is in this stuff? What can I put on to help it heal?

And the colour was horribly orange too btw.

I had exactly the same reaction to Clinique bb cream. Glad it isn't just me. It has taken weeks to get me skin back on track. Just go back to basics with skin care etc and moisturise.

Thanks Shopalot, how long did it take for it to go away? I am seeing friends on Sunday and I'm reluctant to go au natural...Blush

If you see your gp they might prescribe anti-histamines. OTC ones stop itching but wont take redness away.

i've got this right now and i think its from bee venom serum. Its ugly and itchy and i have a big night out tomorrow! i put sudocrem on it and that's made it really really dry too!

shopalot · 19/05/2012 15:29

I am sorry to say it has taken five weeks for my skin to finally settle down. I did carry on wearing make up though.

lololizzy · 19/05/2012 17:05

grrrr it's so annoying isn't it...mine has calmed down a bit, but you know what whiteheads look like? it's knid of like that, but red, with red and dry skin (def not whiteheads though) I have to use concealer, but that doesn't help with the dryness. Going out later and don't feel my best!

strawberryblondebint · 19/05/2012 17:08

Bepanthen nappy cream worked wonders for me! Took the redness away and wasn't sore to put on unlike -every feckin other cream in the world- e45 etc

I would take the products back as imo they would at least give you an echange rather than lose your custom etc.

CutItOutAndRestart · 19/05/2012 17:29

I would go back and inform them of the effects of this product and ask for suggestions from the pharmacist as to what to use especially as its near your eyes. I was going to suggest sudocrem as its healing but someone has already mentioned the drying effect.

I was just coming back to say take it back. I called Boots today and they said I can take it to a store and exchange it.

I had a skin reaction after using an olay serum, i took it back to superdrugs but they wouldn't even give me a refund becos i had used the product, shameful customer service from them, so i phoned the number on the back of the product box and they were very undertsanding and went through a questionaire over the phone and wanted to know exactly what the product did to my skin. They also sent me vouchers for the cost of the product. I think you should let Boots know what the product you used did as it all goes towards their product research, and if it happens to a lot of people they might think about changing the ingredients that are put in the product.

KellyKettle · 19/05/2012 21:12

Yes missie the customer service woman did say I'd have to fill in a product-something-questionnaire and they'd send it off for testing.

I sent mine back to Clinique and they refunded me. But not even a letter or anything, they just refunded the card.
