Is it unrealistic to expect make-up to stay put?

I find that after one nose wipe and one cup of coffee I may as well not have bothered, no matter how daintily I try and perform the above operations.
Do the rest of you touch up more than once a day or is there some magic in a bottle that I just haven't tried yet?

Illamasqua. Used for my morning wedding and still perfect 11pm. Couldn't believe it. The lady did my face for free because I bought the foundation.

sleepless which Illamasqua foundation? I have the Rich Liquid one as I wanted a full coverage look, but unless I mix it with something else it looks vile on my skin after about an hour.

I wore it all day yesterday mixed with some MAC Face and Body (foundation junkie over here...) and used Milk of Magnesia as a primer on my nose which is the only oily bit. It stayed all day, but it looked a bit weird at the end. Sort of very obvious it was on my skin iykwim?

Mind you, we have a shop up here now, I might go and try one of their new ones.

sudocrem wrecked my skin. still trying to get rid of the dried up, flaky bits. And my skin is OILY!! Shock

valiumredhead · 18/05/2012 18:49

You need Bare Minerals Bisque conceal or - fab and stays put and the red disappears.

Frog253 · 18/05/2012 20:51

Tried the Sudocrem before, not that impressed.

However, before I made ANOTHER purchase I thought I'd do a little experiment with Boots Once sun lotion, factor 50 (bought for the DCs). I thought that if it is supposed to stick to the skin and last a while it might be a decent primer esp good because it has a UV filter in it.
It seems to be working.
I have also waited a bit longer after moisturiser and before applying foundation.
Definite improvements.
Am also practising my nose blowing technique.
Valium you love that Bisque concealer, you've mentioned it before. I went to the BM website and of course there's a variety of Bisque concealers, which one do you use? And do you use primer with it at all?

whackamole I have the light liquid foundation and used their powder foundation on top. I have the primer but never use it. Here they will film you getting your make up done so you can do it yourself. I'm addicted to a blog called make up and macaroons and she raved about it also so don't give up yet! I have the rich foundation but the colour is wrong....

valiumredhead · 19/05/2012 11:34

OP - ha ha ha I always rave about it as it's transformed me! Grin I use the original Bisque and I use the Barbara Daly primer :)
