Shampoo to cover greys?

Is there such a thing? I remember my hairdresser telling me I had colour on my hair when I used to use Brilliant Brunette so wondered about going back to it now I have a few of the feckers waving at me. I also remember a Henna shampoo, by Wella I think? If they/that still exists.
I don't want to dye my hair yet so am looking for alternatives. Or am I kidding myself Grin

I am the same and have just bought aveda Clove conditioner for the same reason. I can't comment yet as have only used it once so I think the fact that the grey seems less obvious may be in my head.... Will keep you posted.

I like the idea of Aveda. Their shampure suited my hair. Grey hair rubbish innit?!

Back to update. The conditioner definitely blends in the grey. It doesn't dye the hairs just makes them less white if you see what I mean. The only problem is it is hard to get the conditioner right to the front of the hair line where it needs to go. But with practice it will get better! HTH

Brilliant! Will give it a try too. Got some brilliant brunette but haven't noticed any difference yet.

The aveda one is definitely got more dye in it. It leaves your hands brown and needs a good scrub to clean them up. So much more effective than the brilliant brunette.

Can anyone link to these?

PacificDogwood · 19/05/2012 16:35

Oh, yes please, linkie?

itdidntworkout · 19/05/2012 17:17

I think Paul Mitchell does colour shampoos, which is cheaper than Aveda.

here we go

Cheddars · 19/05/2012 21:40

Do you need to use the shampoo as well as the conditioner? Or just either/or? The shampoo on that link is £24! Shock

OddBoots · 19/05/2012 21:51

I've been wondering this too and I've ordered the Trevor Sorbie Warm Rich Brunette to try, it seems well reviewed on Boots (and 2 for £6 for the 250ml shampoo and conditioner at the moment).

itdidntworkout · 19/05/2012 22:07

Cheddars - the shampoo will add shine and add tone, but only the conditioner has colour deposits. Use the shampoo every time you wash and the conditioner once/ twice a week. Leave-in up to 20 mins and wear gloves.

Go to your nearest Aveda counter with empty tubs and ask for both Clove and Black Malva samples. Try clove first and if not dark enough add in the black malva to give you dark, warm glossy hair.

Well, the brilliant brunette is a decent shampoo and I've got lovely shiny locks, but the little grey feckers are still waving at me. Will save some of my birthday money to try the Aveda one.
