when i am at home i want to be comfy and get into either tatty leggings or random mismatched pyjamas as soon as i can. but, answering the door or anything is a tad embarrassing!

i want to be all posh like the ladies in the hush catalogue in their loungewear sipping herbal tea and pretending lifes a bowl of cherries !!
cant quite stretch to hush prices though.

any suggestions for me ?

You have made me laugh with that post as I arrived back home today and the window cleaner was outside......I am sure he heaved a sigh of relief when he saw me fully clad as I work from home one day a week(while the kids are at school and nursery) and the preferred outfit for that is a huge baggy t shirt and my underwear!!!! I have had a nasty shock a few time when the back gate opens and I am found sitting in the living room, generally on the floor, papers and invoices covering the floor in my large t shirt and mug of tea in hand with the window cleaner peering in! So while I don't have many suggestions I can say your not alone.....

Don't ask me - I wearing joggers and a tatty old card - I have no place on S and B whatsoever !

dexter73 · 14/05/2012 14:27

I think you need a onesie.

PuppyMonkey · 14/05/2012 14:29

I don't have a window cleaner or a milkman and never answer the door when on my own.

I think key to the hush look is the colours

You could pop into tkmaxx and look at their joggers/active wear, some quite cheap

combine with basics from other companies (whichever you prefer) like fitted or loose t shirts

Not sure about alternatives for their jumpers and dresses

Stick to greys and pastels...

Or wait till the sales are on... as I am doing.... or when you come across a good code!

yes, think its the colour thing thats drawing me in with hush , your right.

i could not do with a onesie lol and the kids would disown me !

Oh, and do your hair and make up and accessorise first thing in the morning! Thats how to take loungewear up to a new level!

dexter73 · 14/05/2012 14:43

Don't they disown you in your tatty leggings/random pjs then Wink?

thriftychic · 14/05/2012 14:46

no they are used to them lol but i remember how horrified thy were when my new bag on wheels arrived from trendytrolleys Shock i am not prepared to chance it again with a onesie Grin

I think you would look amazing!

RomyMadison · 14/05/2012 14:51

I was sick of looking awful all the time so I threw out all my ugly unflattering baggy clothes so they weren't an option. Just simple yoga pants, a basic top and a matching cardigan look fine and are comfortable - and i style my hair quickly and tie it up in a barrette clip - it stays out my face and it takes a second, but i always use gradual tanning moisturiser so I don't look completely pasty!
