False eyelashes?

So.....I get married in 20 days (squeee!) - I know what I'm doing make up wise, but my sister has asked if I am going to wear false eyelashes. I would quite like to, but I have never worn them before.

I bought some this week, some corner ones from Boots - thought they would be the best option - and oh my god they looked awful. Just, really really fake. And considering I actually have fairly long and thick lashes it was disappointing!

Can someone recommend me some good (and fairly cheap please) ones that won't make me look like a WAG wannabe?

Go to MAC. Their No. 20s are sort of half-lashes. Not corner only, but not a full strip either. Good for a slightly winged effect.

Their No. 33s are very subtle - good for a little added volume and length not too noticable if you're new to lashes.

My favourites are their No. 7s but they might seem a but much if you're not used to wearing lashes.

They're about £10. From what I remember, MAC let you try them on - they just perch their display set on your own lashes so you can get an idea.

Good luck btw!

I bought some Katy Perry ones from new look for a wedding last weekend and I loved them. They were the most natural ones there (in a yellow box) and were about £6.

I had to do some alterations (cutting the inside few mm off as they scratched when I blinked and trimming the length a bit too) but when on they were comfortable and I got lots of compliments on them.

I'll be wearing them at another wedding next weekend definitely!

Thanks. Have just been looking at the MAC website actually. Will drop in this week - like I need another excuse!

I would go for knot free individual lashes but with normal lash glue (MAC sell Duo glue which is better than the ones that come with strip lashes). this video tutorial is great.

Think they will look more natural and 'bridal' than Waggish and you won't have to worry if one falls off during the day (tears etc.) whereas strip lashes look odd if they come undone! Good luck!

I would go and have lash extensions, that way you can get used to them before the wedding. They are less likely to come off halfway through the day!

Agree with cockbollocks, rather have some put in professionally, it is quite a bit more expensive but they look better and won't come off half through the evening.

I had mine done for my wedding and they looked great.

Thanks all, I'm going to buy and try some individual lashes this week, see how I get on but ultimately I'll probably get em done at a salon. It's just finding the time!
