I'm 26,size 10,

all my old t.shirts are all stretched out from 2 pregnancys and breastfeeding,so the tummy and collar areas are all saggy niiiice and faded and the stitching is coming away, basically,I look like a hobo.

I need some good solid basic everyday tee's (that wont fade in the wash and go all mishapen immediately) to go with skinny jeans and trainers or brogues....
oh,I need some new brogues too actually....

Also any nice 20's style dresses or tops for smarter days/evenings out.

I just went to town and nearly ran away screaming,
I am Not a fan of the current 80's revival, nor do I want to dress like my mother...

Oh,and I don't have a fortune to spend,nor do I want bargain basement.

Any ideas?
Because I'm stuck...

I recently ordered some basic tees from the mango outlet online www.mangooutlet.com/home.faces?state=outlet_006_IN - I have ordered skirts from there before, and I liked the quality, am hoping the t shirts will also be just as good.

You said you don't want bargain basement but I actually find the Primark basic t-shirts and vests better than all the more expensive ones. They are cut longer so don't shrink and expose your belly. And at £2-3 you can buy lots of colours or save your money for a decent pair of skinny jeans.

Can't help with the brogues though - my Grandad had a hideous pair back in the 1980s and they have put me off the things for life!!

Also, sometimes primark t shirts (the cotton ones, with a bit of elastane ones) can be good - although it is a bit hit and miss. I have bought some which have lasted absolutely ages and others which have bobbled. But they are only a few quid each (I am referring to the fitted ones)

:)

Brogues - I got dd1 some leather ones from Topshop yesterday.

T-shirts - maybe Warehouse (but check the fabric because they use weird mixes sometimes).

FriggFRIGG · 13/05/2012 17:11

Thanks everyone,I'm off looking at your suggestions....

I don't buy topshop shoes or primark stuff though, the former because when i complained about a massive hole in a pair of boots after a week ,I was told they werent supposed to be worn a lot,as they were 'fashion shoes'...Hmm

These look lovely, though haven't tried them on yet. Dune has quite a few nice brogues but I am holding out for a sale.

FriggFRIGG · 13/05/2012 22:49

Ooooh those are nice brogues.

I have just discovered maison scotch I'm in love.
Currently trying to find a sale,or a discount code,or something...somewhere...

Uniqlo are superb for good quality affordable basics. Don't pay £50+ for a polyester/modal mix tee from Reiss!

For pure cotton, try Uniqlo, Massimo Dutti, LaRedoute also do organic cotton tees which are really well made (surprised me, that). I have worn mine dozens of times, washed and pulled to death and they still retain their shape perfectly. I got mine via Amazon for £10.

Jigsaw basic cotton tees are the best IMHO here
