My dd is 12 and her forehead is covered in tiny pimples but with some getting angry and red. She is very self-concious about it and we have been trying a combo of mild facial wash with a product called Antiac- very expensive but has no nasties in and is supposed to be really effective with acne. However, her skin is getting worse. Anyones teens tried something which really worked? Please tell me.

Go to the doctors. They can give you acne ointment that works much better than anything in the chemists. Then just use a gentle face wash and the ointment, and maybe a light oil free moisturiser to stop skin getting dried out.

Any product with benzoyl peroxide like benzac or proactive. There is actual evidence that this Is the most effective non prescribed treatment and is as effective as mild prescriptions. The higher the percentage the stronger it is.

Try cleansing with Cetaphil - cheap as chips (around 12 quid for a large bottle - OK, not quite as cheap as chips, but not bad), and very, very gentle (it's used by people who have had plastic surgery). And go and see the doctor - she might need some antibiotic lotion if they are getting infected. I use Dalacin T which works well - I had three HUGE spots on my chin yesterday, almost like boils, and having applied this last night, they are now flat and barely noticeable today.

my DD only has very mild acne but she uses a tea tree stick, when she feels one brewing she puts it on, seems to do the trick at the moment
