I am small and slim (5'2", size 8) but I have ishoos with my body and a skeletal condition which means that Im not happy about exposing too much rib (they are v prominent). my legs arent great (long, but untoned) and I quite like the retro look. this is a hot fave at the mo, and I like this but would quite like a tankini too.

please help!

The red one is sexy in a hot latino sort of way if you are dark and gorgeous

OracleInaCoracle · 13/05/2012 14:41

The thing is, while we all spend weeks worrying about what to wear on the beach, when you actually get there no-one gives a stuff what you're wearing. There are ladies of all different shapes and sizes and NO-ONE CARES what you look like.

I'd be much more likely to notice a lady who was all covered up than one with wobbly bits who wasn't.

Ladies with children in particular really don't need to look perfect. No-one would expect them to. Do you honestly ever see women with kids who don't have wobbly parts? It's rare isn't it?

My advice is to get a bikini you like, get a spray tan, hair nails etc, and just stride out and be confident. Have a gorgeous sarong and sandals to wear to get from A to B, but otherwise just go for it.

I like everything you linked too. Get shopping and trying on at home you can make sure it works with your beach coverup i.e yje clothes you will eat lunhc in; go to the bar; stroll around.

I have a fab maxi dress that cost me more to take up than it cost me to buy Confused and am Kaftan/playsuit shopping next week.

OracleInACoracle that Freya swimsuit is gorgeous, I ordered it to try but sadly it was too short in the body (am 5'10"), which is why I tend to stick to tankinis/bikinis. Leia have the matching beach dress too.

Pelicano · 13/05/2012 17:50

I have the Freya Pier spot bikini with skirted brief here. Lots of ruffles;) It was half price at ASOS, not sure if it still is available though. Comes with a tankini option too.

Tesco are doing a nice skirted navy blue with white spot suit with underwire for £14 but I can't find it on website.

Pelicano · 13/05/2012 17:52

Hmm.... if you click on the link and choose the pink colour, there is a different bikini top.

OracleInaCoracle · 13/05/2012 17:53

I was eyeing that up!!! its very sweet, and green is a good colour on me.

the Freya stuff is lovely!

Hi OP, there is letter in the fashion dilemmas section of the Sunday Times Style mag today with a question virtually identical to yours. The cheaper of the options is a retro blue and red colour block suit from Topshop at £32.

OracleInaCoracle · 13/05/2012 18:03

oooh, I cant find one online, but I do like this
