i posted this in chat but got tumbleweed Hmm so thought i would try in here....

i got a really good deal here

with a discount code , 6 sessions for £69, they are normally about twice that i think.

it sounds great as i really don't want to to lose weight anywhere apart from my tummy. since having dc its just always been wobbly yet i am toned everywhere else.

it sounds amazing but i am wondering if its too good to be true...

has anyone else been here? or similar? and how did you get on?

(and if anyone wants the discount code, PM me!)

I think it sounds like utter bollocks.

I mean, pregnant women who have a lot of ultrasounds due to complications don't lose weight, do they?

4aminsomniac · 12/05/2012 17:21

Sounds like it contravenes the laws of science!

If fat were to be liberated from cells into the blood stream, our bodies have a very efficient way of extracting it and storing it ... In fat cells. That is how fat that we eat gets utilised. So howcome this crowd have found a way of reversing the process?

Save your money, don't do it, is my advice!

i've heard about something similar - fat is 'melted like butter' using heat. Have been told it feels like a hot stone massage.

No idea if it works.

dexter73 · 12/05/2012 17:32

If it was that easy we would all be doing it.

scrappydappydoo · 12/05/2012 17:33

I don't know QueenOfF1amingEverything - I had a number of growth scans with dd2 and all of sudden I lost 7 1/2 pounds in one day ;)

Sorry op - couldn't resist - no idea if it works or not but I'm sceptical

MistyRocks · 15/05/2012 10:14

oh god well i have paid for it now

will come back and let you know how i get on....not holding out much hope though :(

are you supposed to use it in conduction with exercise and drink loads of water to flush everything out?

seeker · 15/05/2012 12:06

I bet you're given a healthy eating plan to follow at the same time, and I predict that if you do everything the tell you, after 6 weeks of ultrasound sessions, the ultrasound will have caused you to lose about 8lbs. Maybe 10 if the ultrasound is particularly- ultrasound-y.

Hi Misty Rocks, I also saw this deal and was going to go for it, but then found some negative reviews and then it put me off, I am doing a piece on Ultrasound Weightloss/Lipo on my blog and would be keen to know how you get on,

If you are interested drop me a PM and I will give you my blog details, or just post how you get on here, as I would love to hear if it works for you!

Thanks

I've got an apple shape. I had 5 sessions and lost 4 inches off my flabby waist and didn't lose much weight and definitely didn't change my diet. When you're having it done you hear an inner metallic radio signal sound. Very bizarre.

Earlybird · 17/05/2012 19:24

valueadd - just curious, how long ago did you have it done? Have the results been maintained?

valueadd · 18/05/2012 07:05

Just over a year ago. Hard to tell as I've had my not entirely planned next child since! Once, i've got to my target weight i'll have another 5 for sure.

valueadd · 18/05/2012 07:12

BTW a friend did the ultrasound followed by lipo and swore by it. She had a flat stomach for the first time as an 'elder' lady. Google daily mail vaser lipo, i saw the results myself. I did the less invasive version, which is how i interpreted the vaser bit of the science.

Follyfoot · 18/05/2012 07:24

I've done a bit of googling....

There is one sort of ultrasound being trialled which looks like it will have the ability to destroy fat cells. However, its has to be 'high intensity focused ultrasound' apparently which is at the precise frequency to destroy the fat cells and no other cells. Apparently no other system of ultrasound works, all they might do is damage the fat cells which then grow again later.

Research into what they call HIFU is ongoing. Think its a safe bet that the ultrasound being offered by this company isnt the sort that is currently being researched.

@MistyRocks did it work?
