I use Clarins. Not entirely sure its best for my skin. Want to give a cheaper brand a go, who has swapped and preferred it and from which exp brand to which cheap brand? Ta everso.

I switched from Clinique to mac & body shop years ago & didn't see a difference. Recently had to switch from them to high st & saw a big difference! Ds lost his job so felt bad with the expense but I couldn't take the way my skin looked & felt & lost confidence as a result. Sounds over the top but honestly know I feel I deserve a treat now and again & feel much better now I'm back on themGrin

I switched from elemis and Dr perricone (pre-babies) to cheaper brands. I did find a bit of a difference and not in a good way

My recommendation would be switch to a cheaper cleanser/wash and toner and pay that bit extra for your moisturiser.

However I have had great results with the judith williams range, Which I would say id mid-price, I get it on qvc and they often have a pay in 3 installments deal.

I swapped from Clarins Multi jour stuff to L'Oreal Youth Code and wouldn't bother to swap back (£10 on offer in Boots usually).
I still use the Clarins cleansers when I have birthday money and get small travel sizes of moisturiser when there is an offer on.

I have tried many along the way (like La Roche Posay) and so have wasted a huge amount of money trying out different cheaper brands. So

No Sad.

But I did go to see a dermatologist who prescribed £8 Retin-a gel. Best thing ever (but avoid if ttc or pregnant!).

I moved from Clinique to Simple and Oil of Olay.

I don't see any difference.

I've got oily skin and switched from Clinique to no7 and boots simply sensitive and it's much better! Helps clean skin deeply but doesnt strip it and make it red.

I swapped from Liz Earle to Simple or Jonhson's skin care. I have noticed no difference.

MrsBovary · 12/05/2012 23:13

No, afraid not. I tried and haven't liked cheaper brands at all, on the whole.

I've used Clarins, Origins, Olay Regenerist and Aveeno face washes over the past year and the latter two (around six pounds each) are no worse than the former two (about 16 pounds each iirc). The Olay Regenerist three point stuff is really good and can often be picked up half price, making it much cheaper than Clarins.

I have switched from Clarins multi-active to olay aqua-physics, but it is not as good.
