Having issues with skirts ......

Why are skirts so much harder to match to a top!?!? Maybe it is just me!

Plus I can not figure out what to wear on my feet as they must be comfortable enough to walk 25 mins to work.

I really want to wear skirts more but I like the gypsy / tiered ones - are they suitable for an office? Not a strict office though other people wear leggings.

I like skirts like this but end up with a cami top and cardigan which is ok for weekends.

I want to look feminine and kind of modest but I always end up frumpy. Doesn't help that I am short and over weight!

I think you could get away with something like that in the high summer, maybe with a linen shirt. But there are also dangers of looking a bit older than you actually are.

I have worn a longish skirt with a linen shirt to work in the summer and it definitely hits the feminine/modest note, but then again I am no style guru!

mango have some nice skirts, particularly in their outlet site - which also shows models wearing different kind of tops - maybe have a look there for inspiration?

Definitely a wedge then as most skirts look better with a heel (unless you have amazing thin ankles). Maxi skirts are better with flats though IMO.

I liked to wear skirts a lot when I was working and was on feet all day so often went for my nubuck wedges or leather platform loafers.

I tend to either have tops in brown and khaki or it really bright colours but mostly plain. Pattern tops I wear with my jeans. It was hard not looking like a wannabe Kirstie Allsop or a fat Boden model though. Gave up skirts when I became a student!!

I like Kirstie Allsopp! Grin

I am short but my legs aren't too bad - fat knees but below that is ok.

There are some gorgeous skirts on that link!!

I have exactly this problem if it's any consolation (not sure why it would be!) as you say, only camis really give the right 'line' but they're not appropriate for work! Would love to hear any solutions!

I like the camis but not with my upper arms! It is sometimes (not this year so far!!) too hot for a cardigan over the top.
