What do you do daily/weekly/monthly, and what do you use?

I realised that I have no idea whether I am doing stuff right, or in the right order even, I wear makeup, but not every day - no idea why not as I look SO much better with it on! I have that BB cream from Boots, the one that is purple out of the tube then rubs in clear? That makes a massive difference to my complexion, I put it on half my face one day to look and see the difference and was really impressed.

I use black eyeliner (don't shoot me!) and find the Urban Decay one good, I have loads that are really hard and drag the skin under my eyes so they are gathering dust.

So, every most days I manage to...

cleanse my face with Simple makeup remover/cleansing wipes
pluck stray hairs from brows chin and top lip

Fortnightly, I can't really think of anything other than get my nails done - I have acrylics as I eat my nails if they are not rock solid

Monthly, what should I be doing? My heels are awful with dry skin and I can't afford a pedicure though I would love one, I do have some id that heel c ream somewhere...

I sound a right mess don't I. Help me please...

Oh dear. I really need to do more don't I.

EllenParsons · 14/05/2012 23:18

Daily

Shower (any shower gel)
Shave everything (well, most days!)
Wash and condition hair (usually tresemme but not brand loyal)
Hair serum (currently clynol) and blow dry

Cleanse (usually Clinique but I try different ones now and then)
Clinique clarifying lotion (liquid exfoliator)
Moisturise - Clinique Dramatically Different Gel + Moisture Surge

Body lotion of some kind - try loads of different ones

Primer (try different ones but like Smashbox, Mac, Laura Mercier)
Concealer (Estee Lauder Double Wear or Benefit Erase Paste + Laura Mercier)
Foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear)
Blusher (Smashbox or Clinique)
Usually some eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick or gloss - different ones

Hand cream throughout the day

Take makeup off every evening and repeat face routine

Every few days

Shower with an exfoliating scrub
Paint nails
Facial exfoliating scrub, currently St Ives or No 7 but like to try various
Foot creams

Monthly
Eyebrow threading

Hair cut - not sure how often but definitely not every 6 weeks as recommended! I am going this week and I think it has been more like 10 weeks since the last one.

Probably some other things I have forgotten!

EllenParsons · 14/05/2012 23:21

God mine looks like loads because I put everything on separate lines!

It honestly doesn't take much time to do it all Grin

ilove · 15/05/2012 08:46

Maybe I should have asked for time taken and cost per week/month at the start...

Wash hair everyother day and sometimes use VO5 3 minute mask - I try to remember to moisturise after I shower

Everyday
Cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise - Im not loyal to any particular brand but at the moment Im mostly using Elemis, Boots N7 and the serum is Avon. In the evening I use a srub by Dermalogica and slap on abit of Oxi 10 around my jawline. I suffer from adult acne and doing all this EVERY morning and evening seems to keep my skin looking ok.

On the days Im working or going out I use foundation (either YSL or Rimmel) concealer (Bourjois) bronzer, blush (Bourjois), mascara and eyeshadow.

Weekly I give myself a manicure and get my hair cut every three months or so.

I dont spend loads of money on spa treatments or haircuts, most of my funds go on skincare products or makeup.

ilove · 28/05/2012 09:10

well, I'm starting to see some rewards for taking a bit more time/effort with my hair anyway. It is long (down to my bra strap) and after a dying disaster recently where the hairdresser bleached it twice in an hour, then put black on top resulting in it going blue and green, it then needed dying a further three times and is now brittle and coming out/breaking off in lumps. conditioning it every other day is helping, though.

Makeup wise I am trying to wear it more often as I do look so much better with some on.

Daily - make-up ( Estee Lauder; moisturiser, eyeliner, mascara, powder. Smashbox photofinish primer, Bobbi Brown concealer, Clarins liquid blush or Chanel powder, Aqua and Vitalumiere foundation). Hot cloth cleansing. Feet moisturised, nail oil applied to fingers also.

Every other day - Aha liquid gold

Weekly - I do my own pedicures after years of having them done professionally, and fortnightly. Manicure is more frequent than weekly, chipping more easily. Also do a Glycolic acid peel (see sizzle thread).

ilove · 28/05/2012 20:43

Hot Cloth Cleansing - what's that? Also the Aha liquid gold please?

CrunchyFrog · 28/05/2012 21:17

Wash and condition hair every other day. Dry and straighten or just lately, curl with new tongs I've got. Hair cut and coloured every 5 wk approx. Doesn't really need cutting but my roots are shocking after that time so I have it trimmed as well.

ilove · 29/05/2012 12:49

Ilove-

Hot cloth cleansing is using a cream cleanser like Liz Earle or Elemis and soaking it off with a hot damp cloth, also can do it with the oil-cleansing-method.

Liquid Gold is a glycolic acid treatment. (not the super-strenght schizzling that is on another thread, but a milder version for wussy people like me!!)

Every day: hot cloth with Elemis (but prefer Liz Earle, have run out) Decleor neroli facial oil 2x a day. Morning moisturise with Decleor, evening with either Liquid Gold 15% glycolic rejuvenating cream or on evening am Liquid Golding N7 or Decleor night cream.
Make up, Dior foundation, mazzie, Bourjois eye shadow, Clinique powder. Instant Smooth primer.

Bucharest · 31/05/2012 06:53

Oh, and Decleor eye cream and currently Gatineau serum.

JemimaPuddle · 31/05/2012 10:08

I do loads but have done for years so takes no time at all.
Daily - am cleanse (philosophy the great mystery), tone (decleor), decleor ylang ylang oil, serum (EH serum), moisturise (eh)
Also use either SPF 30 or 50 depending on the weather.
Pm cleanse (eh balm), decleor neroli oil, alpha h night serum, moisturise (eh night cream)
Moisturise body daily

twice a week hair mask, exfoliate face (alpha h microcleanse) exfoliate body using gloves, shave

weekly paint nails & toes, face mask (queen helene mint julepe)

When I miss the weekly stuff I feel grotty, never miss the daily stuff even when poorly!

ilove · 02/06/2012 10:32

Thank you Bucharest

I'm thinking I'm doing well by managing to take my makeup off properly each day, and even wear some most days Blush

I love Clinique lash power mascara. It's virtually bomb proof but comes off easily with warm water- and lo

SparkyDuchess · 02/06/2012 16:58

Daily: cleanse and moisturise, sometimes add tinted moisturiser and mascara.
Shower, Shave pits, body scrub, moisturise body ( otherwise I leave revolting body dandruff inside my clothes!)

Twice weekly: wash and dry hair, face mask

Weekly: hair treatment, redo or touch up gel nails ( do them myself), paint toe nails

Monthly: roots dealt with, hair trimmed

Sure there's more but that's the basics

KateSpade · 02/06/2012 20:49
